If they will allow 2, why not 4, I could be plat elite pretty quick this year in about 2 trips buying the back row of the SAAB in full Y fares......lie flat seat too!

I think If you buy 2 seats , you only get the miles for one of them .

I think people should get miles for both seats if they buy two seats. CO is getting double the revenue.

Bahh. That NRT run is really tempting. Too bad my disposable income is so tight right now with the house.

I pulled a big  last night. I left the office around 7p and went downstairs to find my car covered in this slushy mess. I turned the car over and retrieved the brush to clean it off. 2 minutes later I went to get in the car, only to find it locked.

Yadda yadda yadda, an hour later I finally got into my car. My nearly 3/4 tank of gas was down to 1/4 at this point so I ran over to Jersey to fill it up. Didn't end up getting home until after 9.

Bah. Humbug.

It's rather quiet in here this morning after last night's frenzy. As overly, overly tempting NRT is on the cheap that trip isn’t in the cards for me. :( I doubt there will be another chance at that great deal.

Just a side note, I hope people who book flights post Oct. 24 didn’t book on NW.

Likewise. I considered it, but I'm saving my War-Chest of TravelClub credits for a mistake fare in the front cabin.

Any NRT hotel recommendations from The Box? I'm looking for something close to some of the more touristy sites... The Westin (at close to $400/night) is out... :(

Was in NRT a year ago November. Stayed at the Hilton (which I recommend) because of location. The Hyatt Regency is across the street.

Direct bus service from NRT to Hilton (and also for return) directly at the hotel entrance. You can buy ticket from the bell stand. Bus is cheap.

In my case arrival from BKK to NRT -quick through immigration/customs, right out to ATM machine then quick ticket bus purchase and quick boarding of the bus right outside. We were in the hotel within 1 hour.

The location is Shinjuku in Toyko. Only take the bus into town, do not take the trains or subways or you will get lost. Shinjuku you can walk everywhere you might want to go. All the night life (lots of lights) is in the area - you can walk there. Plus lots of department stores, etc. Food is expensive - but try the top floor food areas of teh Dept stores. There is an underground walkway system - easy to learn - so you can walk most places from underground - even a 1/2 hour walk underground.

If you have a couple of days - do go into Tokyo - by the airport bus direct to hotels. Note - that nothing is in English and no one speaks English, except in the hotels. Even the hotel clerks have trouble with English - but you can get by.

I refunded my NRT ticket.

:( If I want to book all the seats on a plane for my own use I should get all the miles I paid!

Any reason why?

I am thinking of turning it into a 2 week vacation for my other half and I. Spend a few days in SEA and then grab the flights to NRT and spend about a week and a half there.

yeah I passed out, actually I was drawn into a hypnotic trance by the guy in the LH ad. I refunded it because it is going against my resoultion of spending no more than $50 on a plane ticket this year.

gbryan84 Feb 19, 2009 7:34 am

I can't go on the NRT run. When I brought it up to the fiancee she got  The only dates I could do it because of work are Thanksgiving and Christmas and this is her first holiday season away from her parents.

I'll be sure to direct the pitchfork & torches brigade to your house when the next round of FFP cuts is implemented. :D

Likewise. I could only swing July 4 or Thanksgiving. July 4 is her first weekend of Residency, and Thanksgiving is a no-go.
