Greetings from a 739 as I avoid getting smacked in the face by dozens of Kettles and their oversized carryons. The best was the child this morning in the security line with the tuburcular cough who ended up puking in line and whose parents dragged him through security as if nothing had happened. I feel bad for their seatmates.

I love how Kettles always ask the FA's where their seats are as they board. Um, the whole plane is down to your right- seat 22B is down that way.

Ssullivan, great story.

I believe most of them think that the seat and row numbering is random - therefore they need to start looking at row 1 to see if on this plane it is actually 23E.

PBR. Honestly, I don't think that the beer matters at all. It is just a vessel for holding the bird upright on the grill. The key to a good beer can chicken is McCormick's Montreal Chicken Seasoning. I have no reason to believe that it has anything to do at all with Montreal, but it is delicious. Wash the bird, rub it lightly with oil, douse it in the seasoning and then stick the can in the void and grill it. About 90 minutes later you've got a pretty good roast chicken, with absolutely awesome crispy seasoned skin. It has gotten to the point now where my wife and I usually just eat all the skin off (kitchen shears help prevent burnt fingers) before sitting down to actually eat dinner.

I'm sure I'd be afraid to know what the 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon tastes like. The lone good bottle was purchased in December and I should drink that soon since it cost enough (not pricey but pricey for a non wine drinker)

When I am unsure of the wine quality of somewhere I'm going for dinner I make sure to bring something I know I know I like. Upon arrival and analysis of the situation I can easily suggest opening up mine if necessary. ;)

Then he started in on me. I have a TSA-approved laptop bag that is designed so that I don't have to put my laptop in a separate bin. This has been allowed since the new rules on laptops came into effect late last June. ...He then asks a supervisor who agrees with him. ...Still, I'll be investigating how to file a complaint with them, because I'm tired of the TSA people at BTR making up their own rules.

Each station is required to stock comment cards. They are generally at the supervisor desk on the secure side of the WTMD. If they don't have one you can download a slightly out-of-date version from http://www.millerworks.net/TSA-Compl...iment-Form.pdf. I need to update that at some point with the new, 5.5x8.5 version.

Might be "fare gone" now. I never got it to price out but I didn't try too hard as I don't have time left for travel during that time of year.

Could not agree more. I use one of the McCormick's Montreal variations on just about any meat I cook. The steak seasoning is wonderful for steaks, hamburgers, and pork. A little oil, a little fresh pepper, it's a beautiful thing.

Then I get to the gate. ASA is announcing that the flight is oversold and they need 12 :eek: volunteers. Yes, 12. On a plane that only seats 50. That's a 24% oversell, which just resulted in DL handing out $4800 in VDB vouchers. Good going, DL revenue management ^. They can confirm me on the next to ATL, which is only two hours later, in a bulkhead aisle seat, and offer $400 plus $14 in meal vouchers.

Lucky, why can't that happen to me? I need to work more on selecting flights

IAH on Thursday, 19Feb2009, at about 1:00PM. TSA agent keeps getting people going through the metal detector "beeping"

TSA Agent:

"Attention people, this here machine is a metal detector. It's job is to detect metal, if you have any metal on your person, such as a watch, belt, change or cell phone, it will detect it. That is the purpose of this machine. Please remove all metal from you and put it in a bin to go through the X-Ray machine. I will not let you through if the metal detector, whose main purpose is to detect metal, detects metal. Thank you."

"Sir, you may proceed" (while I am laughing at his comments, and the Kettles who just don't understand why there watch set the machine off.)

<Bill Engvall>

There's 8 rows on this little plane, I'm in Row 2, and this behemoth of a man with a belt buckle you could get DSS on stops at my row on the plane, and I'm thinking that he recognized me. So I said "Can I help you?"

"Yeah, I, uh, I believe you're in my seat."

(Bill looks at other guy's boarding pass)

"No, you're in Row 8, man. They number them numerically. I've never been on an airplane that numbered their rows 1, 17, 35, 6."

</Bill Engvall>

I had to listen to the bit just now to get the details right.

Morning, Box. :D

Welcome to The Box. :) Sounds like you got an agent that ripped off a standup comic whose name is escaping me. I've heard that line before and I can't place who said it.
