EWR-LIM is one heckuva flight. Printed menus, BF Seats w/AVOD, some of the best in-flight CO Service I've ever had, and the night-time approach to LIM along the Peruvian coast gets a huge ^.
I was seriously worried about the Sheraton here after the reviews it got. Apparently, the Club Floor has been renovated. The rooms are oddly reminiscent of the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers. Pleasant surprise, indeed. |

It has a fair amount to do with the quality, accuracy and relevance of your posts. That and it rhymes.

Upon further reflection, no matter what colpuck says should he answer in his own thread, I think I'll go shooting no matter what. 50-some degrees and light wind is nearly perfect trapshooting weather, and I have 7 boxes of 12-gauge shells that are cluttering my home office.
I haven't sot in a long time, I bought loads(ie several case) of 12/20 shells from 2 to 7 sized shot and .22 when it was on sale a year back. got quite a bit of .22mag, .223 and some other that shall remain unlisted stockpiled as well. I didn't do it on purpose however, I was just buying on sale. I have only shot a gun twice in the last year and that was to get rid of an armadillo that kept trying to root under the house. |
Funny you should say that - I really want a stuffed armadillo, a la Night Court.

Rent a car next time you're in Texas and drive around between the hours of midnight and 3am. You're bound to run over a few.

True enough, but I prefer my dead things to arrive via FedEx. Gun enthusiast that I am, I only throw hot lead at paper targets.

ALCO, what would you tell an AMS noob to do for two days? Never been, going in May, and staying in Leiden for the trip. Keukenhof and some canal-based stuff already on the itinerary.

Personally, I much prefer Den Haag. Staying in Leiden, you'll only be a 10-15 min train ride from Den Haag. Be sure to check out the Binnenhof and beach at Scheveningen. That time of year, most of the beach-front restaurants with outdoor seating will likely have opened up. Be sure to try the Indonesian food in Den Haag. It's probably the best you'll find outside of Indonesia. I didn't get a chance to try it, as it was fully booked when CO 1E and I were there, but Ratu Raja Indonesian restaurant is supposed to be excellent. We ended up eating at The Raffles Indonesian Restaurant, which was also very good. Also, be sure to stop by the bar at the Hotel Des Indes in Den Haag for a drink. The interior decorating there is a total trip. Moulin Rouge meets Paisley Explosion only partially describes the strangeness of that hotel (very well done, though). ETA - Don't miss the M.C. Escher Museum in Den Haag. It's right across the street from the Hotel Des Indes, on the Lange Voorhout (a public square/park not far from the Binnenhof and center of Den Haag). ETA2 - If you spot an ice-cream place in Amsterdam called Australian Ice Cream, be sure to get one of their choco-dipped waffles smothered in ice-cream. I'm not a huge dessert person, but that combination actually left me weak in the knees. They had a cinnamon & honey flavored ice cream that was phenomenal. |

Definitely check out the Van Gogh Museum, and poke around the Red Light District for half an hour or so. If the weather is nice, I also recommend checking out the Vondelpark. Nearby is the Leidzeplein (sic), which has lots of good restaurants and shopping.

Hello from NRT!
Just wanted to say goodnight to all those in the states. Just off the 14 hour flight to NRT. Have about 30 minutes before the return flight to IAH. Talk to yall in 14 hours or so.

For the BD whores... sdm1130's comment about the 30k + £210 reward. Anyone know if EU routing is possible? So, something like EWR-FRA-EZE?
It could make for some cool lines on the FM map. :D |
Just got back from sushi... What is it about sushi that makes it sooooooo good???
