Having people constantly asking for upgrades does get old but GAs are the face of CO, along with flight crews so chewing out a pax over upgrades is not right. I won't report the GA because it could have just been an off day.

Other than that the flight and crew were great.

The GAs can do just about anything short of stealing cash from the company. Yeah we do have the POWER (:D) and it wouldn't have been so wrong to upgrade the Silver so that he could enjoy the flight with his mom. I actually feel sorry for the Silver Elites since they rarely get any upgrades that I bend over backwards for them.

To write a letter or not, that's your choice. Bad day or not, the GA should not have been rude.

Plus1 - I didn't think it was possible to summarize The Box, but I think you've done it.

Plus1's summarization might be the most salient and intelligent rundown of anything I've yet seen on FT. What he did was create a form of Buddhism for The Box: know these noble truths and find enlightenment.

With the AmEx program there were way different rules, like you got the J rules on the 2xR fare or something. So if you need the flexibility of the rules there is still value there.

Sadly bottle. We had to dial back the average per bottle cost for the time being and, well, this bottle was decent at best. I have a bunch of great bottles stored in coolers, but promised myself to leave them alone!

We drink a lot of $8-12/bottle wine in our house. It isn't great but every now and then we find a winner and enjoy it a lot. Plus it makes splurging a bit all that much more fun.

I personally don't mind flying WN from time to time. They have a very consistent product and though a few of the thousands of FAs in the system clown around, most are simply just friendly. But that's just me.

Me, too, though being in NYC the opportunity doesn't come up that often. I needed JAX-MSY in 2003 (I think) and they were a perfect option - fast and cheap. No way I was going to deal with US or DL and connecting for that flight.

I just use regular Flyertalk on my BB Storm and avoid all that mobile FT nonsense.

I hated scrolling through long threads on the Storm. One of many reasons I returned it.

Welcome! Good luck keeping up, but don't worry if you don't/can't. Most of it is stream of consciousness anyways and is either rehashed or repeated in equally good entertainment later.

  • I'm going to be way camera shy at any and all DOs
  • Those who box = those who drink

End of line

Thanks!! (I trimmed the list to the ones applicable to me. :D

If the guy wanted the upgrade the time to do it was in the boarding area. Check a PDA or ask the GA there. Asking for it as the plane is closing up is bad form and doesn't deserve to be dealt with, though a GA snapping at a customer isn't the answer. Still, if it was asked up at the gate when there was time to check that F wasn't going out full my guess is that the GA would've been more responsive. It also would've allolwed the passenger to phrase the question a bit better.

In other news, Spring Training is fun. Sun, baseball and flying to get here. :D :D :D

I thought about doing that, but I didn't know if it was right to take credit for the poo reference.

Oh, I am trying to sleep, because I am working mids for the next 12 weeks , not because I am a bum

We all travel together on the wheel of life. Only those with the required number of EQMs can achieve true Nirvana.
