But they do have some of the best ribs ever! At a place where you can get your car's oil changed and a car wash while you chow down on said ribs too.

They remodeled last year. It's not bad now. But don't get me started about them giving my up-graded room away by accident. :mad:

Anyone have any opinions of Hilton Hyde Park? They are nearing the end of a remodel so I can get a prepaid room for 69 quid.

I won't do the AARP thing very often. But seriously, the closer to midnight you arrive, the less the front desk clerk cares what rate you're on. The late night people are more concerned with getting you away from them so they can go back to whatever it is they do to kill time on the graveyard shift. It works especially well if you walk in looking like you're half dead and will totally go off on them if they question your eligibility for the rate you've booked.

Marriott used to be pretty easy with the government rate. But they cracked down in early 2007, and ever since, they're really strict about it. The last time I tried my rate went from an $85 State of Texas Employee rate to a $110 corporate rate. Still, not too bad, considering the website's best rate for that night was $190.

I'm happy to take the blame :D It was a great time, gents. Look forward to doing it again. We just got home after a stop for dinner (no drinks except for water) and I think I will sleep well tonight!

Following up on the LAS talk yesterday, I just got promo codes for 79/night at M Bay and 99/night at THE:rolleyes: if anyone wants them ping me.

Indeed, a huge win for Florida!! Further proof that a good defense beats a good offense. I don't care that OU could put up 50+ points/game in the Big 12. Those teams have no defense. When faced with a defense that actually gets practice time they found out that a running back cannot just waltz into the end zone because the ball is spotted on the 1 yard line, nor can they truly just move the ball up and down the field at whim.

I also believe that this victory calls into question the Heisman voting from this year, at least in a straight statistical analysis. If three QBs from the same conference can all put up huge numbers like happened this year that speaks more to the poor defense in the conference than the offensive abilities of the three, IMO.

I'm impressed that Utah got as many first place votes as they did, but I have to agree that Florida is the national champion this year, even with one loss. Undefeated is not the same as best.

Alas we will never know whom is best, the Utes might well beat the Gators.
