Benton Harbor Michigan? What did you expect? Last time I was there the weeds were 3 feet tall in the sidewalks downtown. I can't imagine it's gotten much better...
But they do have some of the best ribs ever! At a place where you can get your car's oil changed and a car wash while you chow down on said ribs too. |

How true! Hilton London Euston was rather a dump IMHO.

Anyone have any opinions of Hilton Hyde Park? They are nearing the end of a remodel so I can get a prepaid room for 69 quid.
I just got an e-mail from Marriott You too can Fly High with MegaMiles! |

I know about the marriott govt rate. they are married to the feds after they found his kidnapped family member. I don't bother with marriott unless its a significant savings over spg. I have not have the nerve to try the aarp rate yet, although lord knows I have been temped. Marriott used to be pretty easy with the government rate. But they cracked down in early 2007, and ever since, they're really strict about it. The last time I tried my rate went from an $85 State of Texas Employee rate to a $110 corporate rate. Still, not too bad, considering the website's best rate for that night was $190. |

I blame her too. But she's still awesome. And now I know who to look for at IAH. Always good to meet another FlyerTalker, especially a Penalty Box member, in person.
Why is it I always end up drunk when ALCO is around? You'd think after a couple of years of this madness I'd know better. Oh well. I'm safely in my room at the hotel and my flight isn't until 4:00 PM tomorrow. I can sleep it off as long as I need too. Oh, and unlike a certain Otter, I hear I'll be seeing baglady again in a few weeks at the CO Do. I'm happy to take the blame :D It was a great time, gents. Look forward to doing it again. We just got home after a stop for dinner (no drinks except for water) and I think I will sleep well tonight! |

I also believe that this victory calls into question the Heisman voting from this year, at least in a straight statistical analysis. If three QBs from the same conference can all put up huge numbers like happened this year that speaks more to the poor defense in the conference than the offensive abilities of the three, IMO. I'm impressed that Utah got as many first place votes as they did, but I have to agree that Florida is the national champion this year, even with one loss. Undefeated is not the same as best. |

Indeed, a huge win for Florida!! Further proof that a good defense beats a good offense. I don't care that OU could put up 50+ points/game in the Big 12. Those teams have no defense. When faced with a defense that actually gets practice time they found out that a running back cannot just waltz into the end zone because the ball is spotted on the 1 yard line, nor can they truly just move the ball up and down the field at whim.

They remodeled last year. It's not bad now. But don't get me started about them giving my up-graded room away by accident.

Morning Box... from snowy CLE.
Just had a phone interview with a prospective company. It went pretty well. Hopefully a decision, or at least more info, on Monday. |

I should have known better by the time the third bottle of wine turned up at the table last night. Many thanks to baglady, Mr. baglady, and ssullivan. My liver sends its regards. |
