My stay there wasn't the best, but I liked it more than the LM.

The first room they gave us was terrible since we could hear the elevator all the time. My recommendation would be to ask for a room at the end facing the park.

The W:rolleyes:rldPerks agent is insisting that B fares cannot be upgraded with miles.

We're now on the second call to the rates desk to clarify. Not happy at all.

On March 2 I fully plan on canceling my current reservation at the Park Lane, which I have booked at 12K starpoints for a total of 48K points and rebooking the Park Lane at 10K a night. If they are not available, I suppose I will book at the Belgravia and if they are not available I will book at the LM for the 12K a night since there was no way I was staying there at 20K a night. If all those hotels are not available, I will sleep in the tube station near Buckingham Palace.

I have read that the PL try to go out of their way to make sure their Plats receive an upgrade to a suite, so I am looking forward to that.

You booked the NW flights and are trying to upgrade with CO miles?

Apparently so. Other days it looks more like the BD forum.

Well, technically that is supposed to be doable.

That agent hung up on me when I insisted she was wrong.

The second agent transferred me to the web support desk.

The third agent now has me on hold while checking inventory. This could be a long night. :(

Other way around. I gave in to the Mas es Mas theory on miles (and the NRT-SEA is only 8 hours - not enough time to sleep) and am flying via IAH both ways. I'm trying to use my 30K NW miles to upgrade the CO flights rather than 25K + $100. Since I have only ~90K DL points left and this seems like as good a use as any (only one direction confirmable right now) I'm doing it that way. Assuming anyone there ever actually bothers to process this reasonably simple request.

What fun. Good luck!

Happy 17,:rolleyes::eek::rolleyes: to me!!

On the plus side, despite the excessive hold times for what I have to assume is a simple transaction, this agent at least acknowledges the ability to upgrade me and that inventory is available on one of the flights. Supposedly she is processing that now, though I won't really believe it until I see the confirmation of the BF seat assignment.

I now have to decide if I am going to stalk the return inventory or just put in for CO $$+miles and waitlist it.

I am thinking about canceling the NRT ticket. The more I think about it the more I want to use the money I'd spend on the trip, I would rather buy a Canon XSi.

In other news, Chase sent me a free companion ticket but the restrictions make it nearly useless.

Oh yeah, we have that. Maple street will run for 6 blocks, stop at someones front yard and then start up 7 blocks over on the other side of town. Some streets we have are broken up in 5 and 6 sections

My favorite is same street name, same house number, multiple adjacent towns.

Keep us posted on how that goes, I'm likely to do the same with some NW\DL miles that have just been hanging out.

Snagged 1 of the NRT trips 12/22-12/29. *wood lurker said we'd all be very happy this year with cat-a-linement. Looks like he was right. Always goo\d to see em heading down
