For the AeroGeeks who need there AeroPorn....
[CLears throat and says under breath] All of you! The current issue of Airliners is out and has an article on SXM. The centerfold is a young looking 737-8 with blended winglets and nice graphics. Looks like a good issue. For the Braniff junkies in the group Airways has a discussion of the Branif Concorde and a story about the DL 747 and the repaintings and employee views. Also Aircraft was a 747 centerfold spread. Nice bulges there! ;) That is the update on the AeroPorn front. I forget if it was in this thread or the pilot thread but the book about identifing the ground from the air is called America from the Air http://www.amazon.com/America-Air-Gu...5105909&sr=8-1 Comes with a cd with more areial shots. |

The joke falling flat is yet more proof to me that Philly really hates itself and won't address it. Who would tolerate such acrap newscast and such awful music? And re: Cecily Tynan, the operative thing is "10 years ago". Age and gravity are a real pair of biatches. I love the really long version of it, with the choir singing and the soft disco beat. It's really gr:rolleyes::rolleyes:vy. |

That, plus the fact that there is absolutely no street grid in most of Atlanta. Streets curve around and intersect at odd angles; sometimes five or six come together at a single intersection. There's no logic to any of it, and after nine months, I'm still not comfortable in certain areas of the city. To make matters worse, not only do street names change often, but they are often not signed well. And then there are the lanes, which often come and go with little or no warning. A four lane street will suddenly be two lanes, then six lanes, then maybe three, and then back to four. Many of the roads in Atlanta are also far better suited for a rural farming community than a large city. It's a mess. I hate driving in Atlanta.

The fact that Philly revolts when they want to change the music is further proof that Philly is Bizarro World in disguise. I never liked it, and I remember hearing it over 20 years ago. ItKs an attachment that I don't think I'll ever comprehend. |

Tolerate that music? Heck, from what I've heard from a few friends at work who are Philly natives, they love that music! Didn't WPVI change it up some years back, and then had to go back to the original version just a few days later because of the public outcry that they had dare modernize that theme?
