No, I'll be good. I promise. I want to get home. Even if it involves a damn ASA CRJ-200 with a full load on a short runway.

It is windy as all get out in DC today, so I would imagine EWR is experiencing the same.

Anyone know if any of the CRCs are worth visiting to get away from this hotbox? Btw, ssullivan you were right, this place is warm.

I'd suggest the Concourse E CRC. It's not too terribly far, and one of the better ones at ATL.

Apparently the temperature issue at the ATL PC is beyond CO's control. I've mentioned it to the employees there before and they've basically said "We know, we're burning up too, but the airport controls our temperature, not us."

I'm sitting in the ATL PC and they just announced that we need to make space as more people are expected due to all the delays.

As for the travel stories, i'm generally pretty good about where i'm going. Though, every once in a while someone in an airport will ask where i'm going and i just get this dumbfounded look and have to think about it.

I too have suffered through the "now where is my room" dilemna. One of my friends, years ago was traveling with me and a few of our other coworkers and our director. One particular night, said friend had way too much to drink and decide to excuse himself from the bar. About an hour later we called it a night and headed to our rooms.

As I got up to my room, I find my friend wandering the hall. I ask what's wrong and he insists that his key doesn't work. Apparently, in his overly inebriated state, he went and got a new key but even that didn't work. So, I take the key, walk to his room and voila. Turns out, he would stick the key in, but never pulled it out waiting for the little light to go on.

I still haven't let him live that night down.

The Terminal E CRC that used to be the BusinessElite lounge is very nice.

Fozz, have you posted the DO pics yet (specifically mine from the Mystery tour?)

Are you talking about the regular E CRC or the former BE lounge?

Possibly. At least they have windows. So much of that airport doesn't. I hate the long stretches of Concourse C where there's not a single window. You can't even see if your plane is at the gate because of it. And despite the recent renovations, the place still feels like a cave in certain areas.

The worst part about ATL is the general crowdedness of it. During peak travel times, walking down the concourses feels like walking along a busy Manhattan sidewalk during rush hour. And those small CRC's in some locations (B and C?) are total jokes.

On a triva note, was there ever scheduled international service outta LBB?

When do the DL flights start? I looked up some future dates but can't find any flights...

Yep, parts of ATL are way too narrow. And the B CRCs aren't worth bothering with. The C CRC is fairly new — opened around 2005/2006-ish — and pretty nice. It's not huge, but I've never seen it ridiculously crowded (but I'm also not in there very often).

I've taken to walking between concourses at ATL, rather than taking the train, because it's often so crowded. I've only ridden the ATL train twice in 2009, despite about a dozen arrivals or departures from that airport since January 1.
