Yep. Thanks for pointing that out. Still works out okay, though. I switched my rez from the Westin Paris to get in on it before the Cat Increase. Though the Westin seems more my type of hotel (more Modern), I imagine the Significant Otter will enjoy the Prince De Galles even more, and I'll likely stay at the Westin again at some point in the future (though not the Prince De Galles, as I am fundamentally opposed to paying Cat 7 Points Prices).

I will never forget the one time business travel got to me. I was flying into EWR in the morning after nearly 3 weeks in different hotels and I had another suit case in my car for a trip to MSP. I fully planed on getting on the morning flight, but as I was on my way to my car on the Airtrain for the luggage swap, I decided I wanted to be home so I went home, mowed the lawm, napped for an hour, cleaned up and headed back to the airport. That trip home was worth it 100%.

Admittedly, that particular category change is :rolleyes:. However, considering how many excellent SPG properties went down in category, I'm still absolutely ecstatic with the recent announcements. Sheraton Fota Island Hotel & Spa in Cork is now only 7,000 points/night. That is *Insane* value.

Indeed, there are some very good values now. I'm very excited about Westin Times Square going down to a 5. That will make it more likely for me to visit NYC at anytime, although I'm not a big fan of that particular hotel. But for only 12K, I'll probably do it :p

And, many Ws are going down to 4. It will also make me more likely to visit Chicago in the future.

There are, however, some :rolleyes: properties that are going up. Namely, Sherat:rolleyes:n Princess Kiualani is going up to a 4. Also, I'm surprised Westin NRT went up to a 6. Thats beyond :rolleyes:. I already go out of my way to avoid SPG in NRT. There are much better properties in NRT for the same or less price.

I had some pretty good jambalaya last night, at least as good as it might get in New Jersey.

I'll skip the firends part (:eek:) but I agree that there is a time and place for a vacation that isn't ridiculously busy/hectic. Perhaps it would be better to distinguish between trips and vacations. My visit to Tirnidad & Tobago was certinaly not a vacation, but it most definitely was a trip.

As for the longer vacations, right now I'm stuck pretty much at a single 10-14 day trip a year because of my wife's vacation time issues. It sucks. We've got a good one planned for this summer, and I'm hoping to convince her to push the limits with her job for another week between Christmas and New Years, but that will be tough.
They serve it at Morimoto in NYC, too. I hope it is better in Japan, as I didn't really really like it too much. But I'm willing to give it another try. ;)

While I often :rolleyes: on the road I've never completely lost it.

I had a pretty startling moment when I ran into the same FA 3 times in two weeks and they asked me where I was going on this trip and I had no idea until I consulted my BB.

It also worried me that I was on a first name basis with several US employees in LGA.

With my upgrade percentage at the W on Lex (also now Cat. 5), I think I would rather stay over there or at the Le Meridien

I just can't decide if I should upgrade our tickets or not. I am thinking of maybe just upgrading the return portion, but I have a feeling I may have to end up with a reward ticket so I don't want to flush too many miles.

Yea, but I like Westin and the location better (I know, I like times square. What can I say? :p ) I'm fine with a corner room on a higher floor plus freebies in the club lounge. I can deal with the lack of suite upgrade and bad service I guess in lieu of the aforementioned.

I havn't tried the Le Meridien. How is it? The hotel looks very old and in need of a renovation from the pictures on the website.
