Still too risky IMO. I'm staying away from the airline industry (well, from an investment perspective at least).

Just for future reference, it's generally not a good idea to fly to another city to get items out of a self-storage facility and have them shipped on a moving van when you leave the key to the super strength padlock on the door of the self storage unit at home, which is 800+ miles away. I learned that the hard way this morning. And I also learned that while it's possible to get a locksmith to show up in less than 30 minutes in this city to break a lock open, it may take an hour's worth of work, multiple power tools, and $150 to get it done.

The good news is the main reason I am back in Houston right now — getting the last of my worldly possessions moved from this city to Atlanta — has been accomplished. It just took three times longer than I thought it would, and I learned more than I thought I'd ever know about how to open a lock without a key.

You mean you don't have your own set of lockpicks? :)

It's really not that hard. I guess this is what I get for going to HS in Jersey.

I knew kids with lockpicks in high school...that was when picking a lock was the worst thing that had to be worried about, until that dumb broad at my high school had the kid at the prom.

Lookin' like there's a 95% likelihood I'll be spending the night in Houston unexpectedly (well, I guess it's not that unexpected).:rolleyes::mad:

If anyone wants meet up, let me know.

Fair enough. :o

Wheels up out of ABQ is 515 as of now which means I won't land at IAH until 815, which means I won't be "available" until post 930p. I'll check the status of the ssulivan going away party part deux at that point.

Anyone up for an ANC run anytime soon?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=838916

Books into R from YUL/YYZ; ~$715 r/t.

Not bad, but it's expensive to get to YYZ/YUL. Or, you could spend 20k and just use it as an EQM run.

I was thinking of it as an EQM run. Or being crazy and stacking a pair of them, but that probably won't work since I might actually have to do some work and the price isn't THAT great.

I also cannot figure out how to book the ERJ/Q200/Q400 flights on the R fare, so that is hurting my options. On the plus side, this would potentially let me get the E35 and Q400 without a trip to DAY. ^

There's also the $2.50 MegaBus to YTO.

Just kiddin'. Still in ABQ. I gave up and am going to try again tomorrow. What's going on in IAH? Invasion of Otters or something?

Semi related... I discovered the perfect routing to fly/ride on all of the small CO birds the NE has to offer.

ABE-[135]-CLE-[Q200]-PIT-[Q400]-EWR-[Bus]-ABE.

I'm watching fares. :)

You took such great shots in Udvar-Hazy and you're passing on the USAF Museum? There are commercial aircraft on display at USAF; it just so happens that they are all in their service colors as Presidential transports.

Maybe I'm the anomaly in The Box in that I can look at military and commercial museums with equal amounts of interest. It doesn't look that way for others...to each their own, of course. Just thought it worthy of pointing out.

sdm1130 Jun 26, 2008 6:49 pm

13 seats open up front and still no upgrade for my flight tomorrow evening. In fact, no one has been upgraded yet. Come on CO!

Yeah...I'm sure I'd actually enjoy it. I just like mocking cities I know nothing about.
