Expedia as well.

I tried booking on Expedia but if I try to multi-city it (to force DTW) it prices out at $3,000

Wouldn't you be better off sleeping under the I-10 overpass in a cardboard box and pocketing cash for the hotel stay? :D

Oh, probably not. I plan on getting my reimbursement from work and then complaining to Marriott about that hotel and getting a bunch of points or a refund. I need to check and see if Marriott has something similar to the 100% satisfaction guarantee that Hilton has with Hampton Inns. There's really no excuse for a Fairfield Inn that I'm paying over $120/night for to have sheets with cigarette burns, no mattress pad on the bed, a tear in the comforter, and a shower head so caked with mineral deposits that the water sprays in a million different directions, but not on your body. I would change hotels but there's nothing better available, and I'm scared of the places that do have rooms.

I didn't try Multi-City. AUS-DTW-ATL-MLB just popped-up for one of the weekend dates I randomly checked in February. Strange how the different sites can arrive at wildly different fares on the same dates and carriers/routings, though.

Random photo Box question because quite frankly it's not worth starting a thread: anyone have an idea what the consumer Canon DSLR shutters (XT, XTi, XSi, etc.) are rated for durability-wise? Found out for sure today that I'm north of the 10K mark as far as actual shutter actuations.

50K, according to this.

My *ist DS is at about 13K and keeps chugging along just fine.

At work we're meeting in the client's cosmetology building. It smells like a salon in here. I just went to the restroom and there's a sign that says "No female comsotology students allowed in men's room." That's nice, considering the only males I've seen in this building are myself and the two men who are in my consulting session. But you'd think if you're going to be a cosmetologist, you should learn how to spell it.

There is a chance that next year I will find myself in Poplar Bluff, MO. The best hotel I could find in a cursory glance was a Super 8 or a Comfort Inn.

I hope that the it does not come to pass.

Wow. In a way I'm glad I moved away from PHL. Nasty weather up in the northeast yesterday and today. Even snow in the Philly suburbs and parts of Central Jersey. Yuck! Apparently, where I used to live has a decent amount of snow falling - in October.:(

I'll gladly take PHL's weather now, versus hurricanes here.

I have not been paying attention. I was unaware that the domestic 2-4-1 benefit was terminating. :(

Wow, I had no idea and I haven't even had the chance to use it yet. This really does push me towards dropping my Plat back down to a Gold. It's funny, i was just thinking that this morning since getting the PresPlus card, i haven't used the only tangible benefit of the AmexPlat for me.

I agree about the 2-4-1 International. Nice on paper, but useless for the most part since i'm really not about to buy full J for anything. Now, if it applied to R fares...

Yeah, Game 5 of the World Series has been snowed out today, after being rained out yesterday.

My planned 2009 EQMs are rather sparse at the moment. I'll definitely bag Silver, with two planned TATLs (BRU & AMS), and some other short-hauls thrown in. I opted for the DFW-YYC AC fare that was kicking around about a week ago for some BD credit. So far, though, I haven't really been tempted by any Jan/Feb/Mar fares out there (especially not anything from CO).

The crosswinds during my landing at DCA yesterday were some of the strongest I have experienced in recent memory, but not as strong as those at IAH when I landed yesterday morning. The crosswinds were so strong during the final approach that I thought we would have to go around.

Yeah, the winds at IAH yesterday were pretty fierce. Taking off on the Saab and then turning across the wind to head east toward Louisiana was pretty bumpy.

I had some landings at EDI that I would rather not experience again. One of the worst involved a takeoff from AMS into stiff winds and a landing at EDI in even stiffer winds. The KL 734 was literally shaking whilst stopped on the tarmac at AMS due to the wind. I was surprised we took off at all.

We are experiencing major gusts from across the lake here in CLE. I pity anyone riding the vomit comet on an ERJ or prop!

Good news! I can get out of Sulphur tomorrow morning and not go back! A room has opened up at the Marriott Courtyard in Beaumont, so I can be less than 30 miles from the client site instead of almost 50 like I am now. And I can get out of the awful Fairfield in Sulphur after just one more night.

I never thought I'd be excited about going to Beaumont, but hey, it's better than Sulphur!
