Also, don't neglect the $482 all-in CO R fare JAX-PHL. I played around with it last week, and (IIRC), it's possible to route via IAH if you pick days when there's mainline to JAX.

Yeah, although most of the reason LCH and BPT have only one airline is not related to a decline in business traffic, as much as it is to changes that happened some years ago in the airline industry. Both cities lost DL service to DFW when DL dehubbed DFW. I know DL ran BPT-ATL for a short time after closing DFW, but the traffic really wasn't there to justify that route. AA cut both cities around 2002 or 2003 because of a pilot's contract that required some service cuts. I know BPT would love to have a service to DFW return, but the current economic situation has made getting a new route to a smaller market very difficult. I would suspect that the odds of getting AA to return to these markets will improve as the economy recovers and both airports get out of the current temporary terminals.

I still need to add SHV, LCH, and AEX to complete my tour of Loseranian airfields.

I need AEX, SHV, and MLU for that.

If the menu is going to be a repeat of everything drowning in mushroom sauce then I'm going to eat before I get on the flight (and I'll probably move my TA flying over to LH going forward since CO has such a limited list of ingredients).

It's as simple as that.

Really? I've not experienced much of either of those items in BusinessFirst. I've seen mushroom soup on the appetizer tray, but that's easy to skip and the rest of the appetizers are still there, so it's not like you're skipping the course. I've only seen eggplant once in BusinessFirst, and it was part of one of the side dishes served with the steak. Again, easily avoided -- I don't like eggplant either. Although I did try a little bit of it and it wasn't bad in this case.

As if working in Port Arthur wasn't bad enough, commuting from Sulphur, LA just makes it intolerable. This week can't end fast enough for me.

And I have to come back here next week. :( At least then I get to stay a little closer, in Beaumont.

Don't eat at the Checkers in Sulphur, unless you enjoy spending 12+ hours holed-up in the bathroom.

Random photo Box question because quite frankly it's not worth starting a thread: anyone have an idea what the consumer Canon DSLR shutters (XT, XTi, XSi, etc.) are rated for durability-wise? Found out for sure today that I'm north of the 10K mark as far as actual shutter actuations.

Sulphur is where I spent a week or so earlier this year and was ready to throw myself into oncoming traffic.

That's a common response to finding oneself in Sulphur.

Thanks. I wasn't planning on eating at a Checkers anywhere, so nothing to worry about there.

I'm staying across I-10 from that Checkers at what must be one of the crappiest Fairfield Inns in the entire Marriott system.

Wouldn't you be better off sleeping under the I-10 overpass in a cardboard box and pocketing cash for the hotel stay? :D

I have yet to understand why anyone willingly chooses to live there. I've decided that it's best to keep a low profile, keep my mouth shut as much as possible, and lock myself in my hotel room when I'm there. That way hopefully nobody will shoot me for being a foreigner.

hahahaha that's where I stayed! Does it still smell like cigarettes in the rooms? I feel really, really sorry for you...
