Actually, no real punch line. The guy is truly crazy. Like he did time in Bellevue crazy. We're working with the city to get a guardian appointed to take care of him better and hopefully get him into an assisted living facility, but there's a lot of bureaucracy involved in that. In the mean time, he's known for occasionally using the hallway on the 3rd floor as a disposal location. Last Thursday night I went to take my garbage out ans there were a couple deposits in the foyer of the building. Not good, though this is the first time I've come face-to-feces with it, as I rarely go up to the third floor.

And, no, it is not raining in Chelsea yet either.

Alrighty then. Life in NYC indeed.

In other news, I have to fit three nights in CUN into my schedule before Dec. of 2009. My mother wants to give me the nights (at an all-inclusive, no less) because she can't use them. I smell fiancee's birthday present.

According to CO Elite Line agents, VS PE cannot be booked through them and VS has to do the ticketing. So, I have to book the IAH-LAX-IAH part through them as well (or put them on two separate tickets, how does that work?).

This will increase the price because to get 100% EQM on those segments they cannot be booked into deep discount economy.

It is turning out to be a frustrating morning.

Do you have to travel to LHR on the same day you are traveling IAH-LAX? If not, you could just book IAH-LAX-IAH on co.com. If you do not build those segments into the VS ticket, however, you run the risk of not being protected on other flights if one of your connecting flights is delayed.

I figured out that if I do this Africa thing, and the 3-night CUN jaunt, and the usual FLL for Christmas, I'll be one MR Deal transcon short of Silver...very interesting.

I could probably work it so that I do not have to travel to LHR on the same day as IAH-LAX.

If you really want 100% EQM's for IAH-LAX-IAH, just fly to LAX the day before, if possible, and schedule a really long layover on the way back, like a redeye (not sure what which VS flight you will take back to LHR; if it arrives early enough, you could take the late afternoon flight back to IAH).

Mike, you need to spend less time on FT and more time on a Plane.

Except that Silver has been degraded to near worthlessness over the past couple of years. You'd be better off just getting the Presidential Plus Chase card, which would give you eliteAccess benefits as well as a P Club membership rather than spending the money on mileage runs. If you plan on increasing the amount of your travel in the near future, however, Silver might be worth it.

When I get a job that lets me do that, I plan to start. :D

This year I have had a total of 0 business trips. All pleasure and out of my own pocket. It can be done...

Interesting way to look at both sides of it. Gotta get to a lunch meeting.
