MR BL is in MCO and he said it's worse there than here. My parents went back to Nebraska Mon night and my poor dad still had his short sleeve shirt on and it was 44 outside. :D

I'd kill for the mid-80s right now! :) In any case, it looks like Houston is going to cool down a bit this weekend.

We're flying in on Friday for a wedding. DH asked if he should bring his cashmere jacket to the rehearsal dinner, so I guess I can tell him to leave it at home.

sfogate, are you working Thursday night or is it high school football night? We're on the Friday SFO-IAH red-eye.

I'm pretty sure I have given up all hope in ever receiving a PHL-IAH upgrade on a Friday. In the past, I've tried the 3pm and the 5pm flights with no luck and this week the 12p is not looking very promising.

Oh well... :)

In other news, I called Exec Accounts and got exit rows for tomorrow. There are still bennies to being in the industry. :D

But those are supposed to only be for plat/gold. ;)

You should post in the "normal" thread about it to show everyone that their status is worthless.

Based on the flight times you posted the other day - aren't you already inside the 24 hr window anyway?

Sorry I'll miss you. My work week starts on Sunday. This week's football game is on Friday afternoon.

I have to go back to SGN. I thought I was going to get to make a nice easy trip to China and HKG. No dice :( Now SGN is thrown in at the last minute. I am so hating my job right now. The good news is my one world status is moving up. I'm flying Vietnam Airlines for the first time.

Its a 5 hour drive from Sioux Falls to Rushmore , Maybe I will stay an extra day and try to fly home from RAP.

You do not like SGN? Of all of the countries in Asia-Pac, Vietnam is one that I would really like to visit.

To add icing on the cake, I need to do a last minute client delivery today and will be taking a Swiss Avro 100 to/from LCY.

^^

I had four 744's and two 333's over the past two weeks, as well as a 738 on a new airline (GA). In addition, a NW FA on the upper deck yesterday presented me with several coffee mugs, flight wings, stickers, and other memorabilia once she discovered that I was an aerogeek (which happended, incidentally, when she observed me taking a picture of the dessert course).

I would if FT wasn't so anti-agent. I was afraid for quite some time to say that I'm family of industry.

Yes, but you would be surprised how many status holders don't actively follow up on their flying. If they get an EUA, great. But very few people pick their Y seat and then try to get an exit row.

Not a bad operation, from my perspective. I did an ATR-72 from Nha Trang to Danang and then an A321 from Danang to Hanoi, the latter in Biz for an extra $15/person. Both flights were quite well operated/handled, even with the 15 minute connection in DAD where we (the 15ish folks connecting) were basically escorted through the entire airport to make the connection work.

Over-rated, IMO. It was fun, but not my top choice at all. Too many people there to get everything as cheap as humanly possible and an infrastructure that caters to that group detracts from what is otherwise a pretty nice place.

I hate the work associated with SGN. This trip is going to be particularly awful. I didn't think my month long break from travel would go so quickly but it has!
