What I find even more amazing is that the DL board people are dreading having to get NW crews post-merger. NW's snark factor must pin the needle on a snark-o-meter if that's the case. Maybe they shouldn't call the new airline Delta, and revive the old name of when Helen Hunt and David Spade were F/A's.

I read a WSJ piece a few weeks ago that not-too-jokingly called Whole Foods "Whole Paycheck".

Whole Foods is expensive for a lot of things (meat, certain vegetables, etc.) but I cannot find decent granola or salted soy nuts anywhere else. (I can already sense what is coming)

and Whole foods

Lewis Black had a great line about Whole Foods.

He was talking about the economic crisis in Zimbabwe and how a can of baked beans cost 40 million dollars. He then dead-panned, "I had no idea they had Whole Foods in Zimbabwe."

Hilarious.

... yeah. You might want to just sign off for the rest of the day. ;)

As rolov would say - you didn't just open the door, you took it off its hinges and rolled out the welcome mat.

The crews I typically experience on NW are fine. NW's service leaves a lot to be desired, but they also don't pretend to be something they're not. My impression of DL is that they try to make you think they're the W of the US airline industry, and they serve up the attitude to go with it, but in reality, they're just another Holiday Inn on the side of the interstate.

On the other hand, NW seems to know it's a Holiday Inn and seems content with that, and doesn't make any pretenses about being something more.

I like King's and Whole foods , but neither are convenient enough to me and both seem to be more expensive.

The thing with Stop and Shop is that if you forget your card you're not going to get the deals prices in the self serve lane, so sometimes I have to suck it up and wait.

A new Shop Right opened up near us and it's pretty nice. We've gotten whole beef tenderloins there are pretty good. We usually end up going to Wegmans, though, since the selection is better.

I generally find the quality of the meat and produce at Whole Foods worth spending the extra $$$. And they typically have things you can't find elsewhere. I'm willing to pay extra for something like fresh wild salmon from Alaska rather than the frozen farm raised crap they sell at our Kroger.

You mean you can't get them at NUTS ONLINE

If only all DL F/A's were just like Betty in the Sky with a Suitcase. Blond, hot, and just a touch on the dopey side. Not dumb, but bubbly cute. The safety video girl ("Deltalina" -) looks more like Steven Tyler than she does Angelina Jolie.

Hmm, anyone else feel a draft in The Box today? Someone left a door open?

That video grates on my nerves more every time I see it. Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to add cheesy sound effects to everything in it (like the "whoosh" when the bag goes under the seat) and to put the "ding" and tooth sparkle on the male flight attendant when he demonstrates how to use the seat cushion as a flotation device?

I can't be the only Box Denizen that listens to Betty in the Sky. Admit it if you do, boys and girls.

Absolutely. The meat selection at Whole Foods is ^ but sometimes I cannot justify the extra $$$ when the difference is simply where I'm buying it. Chicken is a great example. I can get pretty good chicken at local grocery stores and a butcher down the street for a lot less than what I would find at Whole Foods.
