"And how long did it take you to cook those grits...were they magic grits...how sure are you about those 5 minutes"

what a great movie

PS
Dont be hating on NY just because many of here are ignorant to the goodness of girts...mmm espically cheese grits. Many a morning at college girts mixed with other fried food helped me nures a bad hang over.

I found them at the Shop Rite* in W. Nyack. The dust on the lid didn't deter me.

As a self-respecting Southerner (and not a "yute") these were, of course, not "magic" grits.

I used the grits for a shrimp and grits. I loaded up the grits with about 2 cups of cheddar, healthy sprinkling of parm., diced jalapenos, tomatoes, chives, ham, and garlic.

The original plan was to make a grit-cake and then deep fry it, but I forgot the peanut oil. So I just left them creamy and served the sauteed shrimp on top. Even the very un-Southern Canuck (who thought she was eating polenta) enjoyed it. Later in the evening she told me I stunk like garlic. I told her she stunk like a Huddle House.

... she had to consult the googler. :o

*Worst. Grocery Store. Ever.

+1. My morning is going to be spent sorting and cleaning out my inbox because I am over my quota. I hate quotas!

What a waste of time...

I'm sure there would only be a few people that would get it, but I may just have to use that one. ^

My Longhorn wife will be doing enough of that for the day, I prefer to really irritate her with my fake pirate sword and eye-patch (for those who don't get the reference: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/04/ma...pagewanted=all)
