Officially Bored
So I wanted to come home early after only getting five hours sleep due to late flight but instead I worked on a spreadsheet with my PC visits, hours, and Money back from CO.
Total Lounges I have been to: 19 PCs, 5 WCs, 4 CRCs, 1 BRs, and 1 AW. Visited the PC/CRC/WC/BR a total of 230 times with myself or guest for a total of 375 hours. Vouchers for airfare/food/ hotel about $4500.00 from CO. I can say that FlyerTalk has officially warped my mind now. Please someone help me, I have no flights planned for the rest of the year and may not even make SILVER... oh the HORROR! |

Seriously. I am so sick of air travel and the System that if I can drive somewhere in <8 hours I do it w/out even thinking. Anyone else getting like me? (I've been doing 'this' since 1985). |
Looks like my trip to Vegas won't be happening in July. CO raised the fare by almost $200 this evening!
I'll have to find another weekend that prices out to a more reasonable fare. |
Is there something going on in L.A. the week of July 7? Hotel prices are all near $200/night unless I want to stay in a mom & pop shop in Marina del Rey.
Looks like I'll just rough it in Compton. |

I've always considered $200/night pretty cheap for hotels in/near a large city. |

$200/night sounds like standard LA to me. :)

Well, I should clarify, I'm looking for things near Torrance, Wilmington, and Long Beach as that's near where I need to be. Torrance and Wilmington are major refining areas and I would expect them to have affordable accommodations; Guess not.

I have a wicked sunburn from Florida last weekend. Everyone at work is trying to convince me to go to a doctor but my doctor has no availabilty for the next 2 weeks. I have a LGA-IAH-DFW-IAH run next week and am not looking forward to it. Last night I took 2 ambien and a crown and coke and still managed to wake up 3 times during the night because of the pain.

If not, you'll be fine, just use Aloe Vera. ;) |
I know this goes in the way-back machine as far as Box posting, but I found a source on SQ switching EWR-SIN to all-J and upping the frequency:
(Article dated 20 May 2008, IIRC):

SQ 22 departed Singapore today at 1100hrs and is expected to arrive in New York at 1750hrs. The return flight, SQ 21, will depart New York at 2300hrs the same day, and arrive in Singapore at 0550hrs on 17 May (all times local). The newly reconfigured Airbus A340-500 is fitted with 100 of the Airline’s new award-winning Business Class seats. With this new configuration, Singapore Airlines is the first to operate an all-Business Class service on the transpacific. Each leather-upholstered Business Class seat measures 30 inches (76 cm) in width; almost 50 percent wider than most products in this class. Providing customers with more personal space and privacy, the seats are arranged in a 4-abreast, 1-2-1, layout, with every seat having direct access to the aisle. When it is time to sleep, the new Business Class seat converts into a fully-flat bed. Singapore Airlines’ Executive Vice-President Marketing and the Regions, Huang Cheng Eng, says the all-Business Class service is in response to demand from corporate travellers. “Our direct flights to the US have always been well-received. With this newly reconfigured aircraft, we will be increasing our Business Class capacity, and offering our customers travelling to the US, the opportunity to experience our award-winning new Business Class seat.” The conversion of all five of the Airline’s A340-500s to an all-Business Class seating is being carried out in phases. For now, the all-Business Class A340-500 operates three times weekly (see Annex 1), with daily services to New York by end June. By late September 2008, Singapore Airlines will also fly the all-Business Class service to Los Angeles daily. |

Just go to a doc-in-the-box if your reg. doc is too busy to see you. But, yeah, you should probably get it checked out. In other news, I'm all booked to FUE. Yahtzee. |

So I finally got around to giving National a shot this weekend and was quite amazed. Really good service and they made Avis look like a bunch of amateurs. Plus, amazingly, there were a lot fewer "fees" then Avis normally charges in SAN.
The only sad part was the executive aisle selection in SAN was a bit lacking. |
