Oh, by the way: mixing Ambien with Crown (or any liquor) will defeat the Ambien. Could be why the pain woke you.

The only sad part was the executive aisle selection in SAN was a bit lacking.

I have to rent Avis in a few weeks because National does not have a presence at BRO.

I hate AVIS and refuse the rent from them. They are my WN of rental cars cos.

I hate Hertz more. It was a lesser of two evils decision, in this case.

People have problems with Avis? I have only had one less than good experience with Avis and my only real complaint is poor selection of vehicles.

Ever since I achieved "Avis First" level (whatever that is), my name is on the board with "CTR". They fricking never have a car ready for me at ORD any more.

I'd love to go back to Hertz.

Seriously.

I am so sick of air travel and the System that if I can drive somewhere in <8 hours I do it w/out even thinking.

Anyone else getting like me? (I've been doing 'this' since 1985).

I'm in your boat. I'll have over 100k EQMs with CO by the end of this month; with another 100k planned and I don't even know what else will come up. I know I have at least 2 more trips to SGN and I've determined I'm not overly fond of Tiger beer; the Moet is $17 a glass and the wine is only okay. The upside is there is more English channels than any other foreign country I've traveled to (including, I think, England). I love the spa, but having really poor internet connections. So good and bad.

May I ask your profession?

100k in six months on CO is fairly impressive. Just think of it this way, another tenth of a million. ;)

I'm with ALCO on this. Hertz is far more evil in my experience then Avis. If Avis is WN does that make Hertz Ryanair?

I'm a baglady ;)

VP sales and creative development which is a worthless title that means I can travel a lot on little notice. The good news is I book my own travel.

Sadly, i've already hit 150k in six months. Too bad it's split between CO and UA, though i'll have achieved Plat for next year by the end of the weekend. :)

Ahhh, the life of a conSLUTant.

My Avis experience is almost universally positive. I use the State of Florida employee rate when renting in Florida and it is ridiculously cheap, with no one-way fees and gas fills at pump prices, so you don't have to tank up when returning the car. I'd often rent at MCO instead of taking a cab because even with the valet parking costs it was cheaper than cabs for my 1 or 2 night stays for work. I also will pick a car up in JAX when I fly/drive in to see my parents. The cars are always ready to go and just fine.

I also occasionally use them in NYC and now that I've found a branch where the employees are reasonably nice life is good again. The rates are still pretty decent with the discount code and the fuel option is even more valuable since the gas stations are less than convenient around here.

I do love the grab-n-go concept from National, but the on-airport location for Avis is worth more to me in more of my destinations.

On the down side, the State of Florida rate doesn't permit earning of points, but that's a small price to pay for the cost and convenience benefits.

As I'm dirt with Avis, I just remembered that one can book rental cars via Co.com. Booked through Advantage rent-a-car (earns 100 OnePass mi/day), and got a Premium car for $30 less than what Avis wanted for a Pontiac G6 (or similar). ^

Took the advise of The Box and went to a co-workers doc. Turns out it is a 2nd degree burn. Got a steroid cream and Tylonal 3 w/ codine. Hopefully this will help.
