If I could get paid that much for that level of "thinking," I wouldn't bother with FT... I'd fly private.

Quote marks indeed. I've almost reached a point where I'm perversely proud to be less informed than I was a few years ago, because it's a larger point of pride to me that I don't watch the talking heads.

Bag issue coming to a close

Well I can happily report that my insurance company will be depositing the first of my payments for my lost bag claim in Seattle this coming weekend. I am still working on them to get the computer replaced at the proper price. I can't believe how one simple bag can screw up ones life so much. Note to self, dont carry so much S*** next time.

I think I am going to try to go to TJ for the day, or at least a few hours when I am in San Diego. Anyone have any idea on the best way to get down there, is there a train or a bus I can take from downtown San Diego?

I will have a rental car, but I do not want to drive into Mexico. I am going to be staying at the 4P Sheraton and they offer a free shuttle within 6 miles of the hotel, so I am going to try to leave the car at the hotel and take advantage of that if possible. The hotel is located near I-805 (Indian Frwy) and CA-163 (Cabrillo Frwy)

I am flying into LAX and will drive down to San Diego after attending a taping of Chelsea Lately up in L.A on a Tuesday afternoon. I mapped the driving out for 125 miles estimating it at 2 hours. How realistic is that? I would probably head down to San Diego after 3:30pm on a Tuesday.

Sorry for asking thirty questions.

Personally, I'd avoid Tijuana like the plague. I know some people will disagree with me but I think the place is a dump.

Also, the border crossing can take several hours depending on the time of day and day of the week.

Is Tijuana really that bad? I am not sure about the border crossing. I was going to try on a Wed ot Thurs afternoon.

Tijuana is shady, but everyone should walk Avenida Revolucion once. I bought a nice pair of cowboy boots there. I love Chelsea Handler...her boyfriend is quite the overtipper.

It is a dump, but worth walking through once just to see the dump that it is. Do NOT drive. Take the bus/trolly/whatever to the border and walk across. The crossing back can suck, but it is better than driving. Walk around for about an hour or two and you'll likely be ready to come back across the border. N.B. - it has been 10 years since I went.

I'd suggest leaving you wallet back at the hotel as well... Bring the bare minimum with you. :)

I was going to bring my nikon slr, I guess that is a bad idea huh?
