Very true, but I've been more than 100 pounds lighter than I am currently and still found myself uncomfortable in Y seats. I distinctly remember flying home from Basic Training (SAT-STL-PHL on TW) and being in a coach middle in my spankin' new dress blues. I was so cramped that when I got up to go to the lav, it took me ~20 minutes to squeeze it all out (#1) because of the cramps I was getting. I also have wide hips at any size. When getting fitted for those dress blues, my waist was 34.5 but because of the cut of the pants I was forced to order 38's. :rolleyes:

We love staying on the Left Bank near St. Germain and also love off season travel to Paris.

We stayed here a couple months ago and found it walkable to many cultural things and public transit. More importantly, many great cafes a short stumble away.

I have lost a lot of wait now that I am not spending most of my time in a hotel. Just not a lot of healthy options for eating, nor was I able to make my usual morning smoothies and big salads for dinner.

Once I find the gym again the tons will fly off!

A few years ago, while visiting Paris with a psycho-ex (long story), we stayed at the Artus Hotel. Gorgeous boutique hotel and it was tiny. The elevator took us to our floor, and there was a 4x4 vestibule with two doors. One was for our room and the other was for the stairs.

I'm staying at the Westin in Feb, so I can report back on that. :)

I agree re the denial thing. When I quit my job I dropped ~20 pounds in 3 months. I was drinking a ton less and eating at home and more reasonable portions. Adding the gym in didn't help me lose any more weight but I feel a helluva lot better about that which I am carrying around these days. Plus, i can now run two miles without dying, should I be chased.

I have stayed at the Westin Paris as another non branded hotel , that was in a great location ( across the street from the back entrance of the Ritz.). Im making phone calls to find out the name .
