Not going to go into a lot of detail, but I really appreciate how some CO employees that read FT do go out of their way to help some of us out from time to time, without even being asked. ^

We are very fortunate to deal with an airline that has the level of commitment to service/interaction with FTers that CO does. I'd say that in the Hotel arena, SPG is also ahead of the curve in that regard. FT-specific issues aside, I've found CO PC Staff are also generally excellent during irrops. Unfortunately, not every airport has PC facilities.

Sadly, I think I'm done flying for the year. And so far, the only flight I have booked for 2009 is to the DO.

Let's hope that all changes! :)

How are you dealing with the shaking and fainting spells?

Those seats are completely different (brand, model, or something like that) than the regular Y seats which is the most likely difference in comfort.

I have a flight on Friday and its the first one since becoming Plat. I booked a few months ago and think it may still have my Gold status under that reservation. According to the seat map it looks like 4 people were upgraded but I have no idea of knowing how (eua or mileage upgrade?). Should I call into continental and see what status the ticket shows up as?

Yes. I believe they have a method of refreshing your reservation if status is not displaying properly.

That sort of change in status is supposed to "just work" and not require anything special, but probably not a horrible idea to call anyways and ask.

Didn't some people report earlier this year (when EUA was messed-up), that CO's system wasn't recognizing status on some reservations that were made prior to attaining status. Perhaps I am misremembering. This is a common problem with SPG's IT system. If you just changed status levels with SPG (for the better), always call the hotels where you have pre-booked reservations, and have them refresh the reservation. Otherwise, you'll find yourself getting Gold treatment as a Plat, or non-status treatment as a Gold.

Gold treatment? Starwood?

ssullivan Dec 15, 2008 2:23 pm

ATC needs to make up its d@mn mind. Is CO 1521 going to depart ATL at 5:15 PM or 5:30 PM? They keep switching it back and forth.

LOL. It is a bit of an Oxymoron. SPG might as well not have a Gold tier. It is absolutely useless. Plat is phenomenal with them, though.

Correct, but a change between tiers is supposed to be working, while attaining new status from nothing isn't working.
