Maybe they will introduce extra screening for shoes, like at LHR.
There is an additional x ray machine where they only scan your shoes located right after the security checkpoint

I hate LHR. Hate it. Never had a good experience there. It's the inner circle of airport h*!! as far as I'm concerned. Their asinine security is a big component of my disdain.

When all the US carriers started moving their service from LGW to LHR I was one of a few that gave a big :rolleyes:. Why? It's farther outside London. It's poorly designed. It's poorly run. And it's just a big freaking headache. Why is it the golden goose of London airports? I don't get it.

(yeah, yeah, onward connections. But how many non One-World carriers honestly have transit operations set-up to any great degree at LHR? It's a big enough market for o/d.)

How could you hate an airport that has a whole terminal filled with water and has whales swimming inside it :D

Not sure if I posted this in here back when we were talking about the absurdity of that commercial, but when the Canuck first saw it, I paused the TV (TiVo!) and asked her what she thought it was a commercial for.

I not only sat in Y on CO last night, but I sat in a non-exit row Y seat, near the very back of a 735. Not only did my upgrade not clear (I was number 9 on the list) but I couldn't get an exit row seat either. So I sat in the back, and survived.

Just thought some of you might want to know.

If it makes you feel any better, my EWR-IAH 762 upgrade is looking like a long shot more and more. PDA site says there are 3 up front, the back is almost completely full and I'm on an S fare. :( My hopes are not high, but at least I'm in 16L.

Anyone at IAH today? I am in LAS due to weather there.

Speaking of Dunkin, ever since the one on my way to work with the drive through burned up :rolleyes: (finally being fixed up some 4 months after the fact), I've tried the coffee at McDonalds (drive through, too lazy to, you know, exit the car and walk in any of the 2 other Dunkins en route) and it's OK. I can't wait for my Dunkin to reopen. I hope it doesn't suck.

The reason for that is because, one by one, FlyerTalk members who post to this thread regularly are contracting a disease called The Benalty Pox.
