Who and where on the track days? Nelson's quagmire?

I assisted with the Cleveland, Detroit and Mid Ohio indy-car races for over 10 years, plus a slew of other events at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. I used to give track rides to volunteers and staff on Saturday nights at BKL, logging 1 - 2 hours each year. I have also driven the Detroit, Houston, Denver and Monte Carlo tracks at different velocities.

The comment was from one of Mid Ohio's instructors as he was sliding me around the track door to door with another instructor. Had a helmet on, but no five point.

No kidding. Atlanta has some of the worst designed streets of any major city I've ever driven in. And it seems to be a requirement of Atlanta drivers to drive with a cell phone in hand, either talking or texting, all the time.

even I20 in Shreveport is a mess.

I10 is a bit better.

All the time. In fact, I'm in that glorious state right now. And again next week. As bad as Louisiana's roads are, they are greatly improved over what they used to be.

Overall, I still find driving in Atlanta to be a far more frustrating experience than driving in most Louisiana cities. The pavement is generally in better condition in Atlanta, but the roads are much better designed in Baton Rouge. The lack of things like dedicated left turn lanes and left turn signals in Atlanta is quite frustrating. At least here in much of Louisiana those are commonplace.

Prisoner is not considered dangerous.

Escaped from police custody at a Waffle House? Wait, they stopped for breakfast on the way to the jail with a prisoner in tow???

Hmmm… maybe we should just let certain states located east of the Mississippi River secede again. And the state in between the Sabine and Mississippi Rivers can either go back to France or just become its own little enclave of Napoleonic Code-governed swampland.

I went to get wine glasses out of the cabinet and when I put the margarita glasses back, one was tilted against a stack of saucers and CRASH!!! approximately 12 saucers came at me. Amazingly enough, only two broke. Which two? Why the business first ones of course

As a follow-up to my comment on dense individuals in the U.S.; what moron puts their cat into a bong while they are smoking to help it chill? Apparently someone in NE named Acea Schomaker.

We have an extremely energetic (hyper) Maine coon that's almost a year old, but we certainly wouldn't ever do that to him. Even if there are times he drives us insane with his destructive behavior.

I saw a beautiful Maine Coon at the local cat shelter as the ladies were doing his intake paperwork. If he didn't have to be isolated and go through testing, I would have adopted him on the spot.

LOL - when I lived in GA (& before ATL's sprawl spread quite so far), the directions were: Take the exit off I-85 toward xxx. At the first light (~11 miles), turn right. Go to the first stop sign (~10 miles) and turn left. At the 2nd street (just past the saw shop - yes, the one with the chain saw on the sign), turn right. If you get to the sharp left curve in the road, you just passed the drive.

And it really helps that every other street has "Peachtree" in the name.

But you averted major tragedy by not losing any wine or margarita glasses!:D

Incredbily sad. The deputy had a tough time not smirking at first.

Or saucers that were my grandmothers. I have many margarita glasses (my parents gave me a box for my birthday, and some were broken. The store replaced the box plus I got to keep the extras so I could have a b:rolleyes:x margarita party but the glasses would have made a bigger mess than the BF saucers did. The wine glasses were on a different shelf, so I was safe there.

They're great cats — very loving, but can be overly energetic. Ours has some crazy habits — he's obsessed with the printer and paper shredder in my office, and if he hears the printer fire up, he comes running, and hops up right next to it to watch the paper come out. He's also got a strange obsession with water, to the point he's always in the sink, shower, tub, or anywhere else where there might be water. Strangely, unlike most cats, he doesn't mind getting wet. He's not an easy pet to have, as he requires loads of attention and is quite insistent that he gets it, even when you're not really in the mood to give him attention. But despite all the work he is, we love him to death and wouldn't trade him for anything… although when he's running up and down the stairs to our bedroom all night keeping us awake we might rethink that.
