Thanks. Checking out the Westin in Pasadena, and the Sheraton Delfina. Looks like that Westin is cheaper.
The Westin Bonaventure doesn't really turn me on too much; staying in Downtown LA on a weekend pleasure trip doesn't really excite us. As for the suite upgrades, my request to be comped to SPG Platinum may very well have not been approved by the time of this trip, since I've got to send it in this week. So there's a good chance I'll just be SPG Gold when we check in. |

It depends on what you mean by location ;)
I guess you are going to get a different answer from someone who actually lives in LA ;) |

Of course the Westin St. John decided to zero out Standard Room availability for my travel dates simultaneously with the downshift in category. There was plenty of availability the day before the shift. How convenient.

Can someone tell me how it is that Marriott's web people expect applicants to list their major responsibilities in a space that looks to be about 75 characters long? Why not just encourage people to write "I did lots of stuff" in that space????

UGH. This new project I'm on in Texas is turning out to really p!ss me off. And it's not even the client — it's internal politics and someone in the company who has a new position which puts her in a position of authority on this thing and her paranoia about everything being flawless that's driving me insane. I just had to change my LAX-IAH flight to leave LA four hours earlier because she wants a 4+ hour meeting at the hotel the night before; she wants us to share rental cars to cut expenses for that week since there will be several of us there, and she's trying to stick us in a crappy, 40 year old on-campus "hotel" when there's a brand new H:rolleyes:liday Inn Express a few miles away charging the same rate. Not that a Holiday Inn Express would normally excite me but it is just about the only point-earning, major chain hotel in the town. And it's only a year or so old, so it's certainly got to be better than the university's crappy hotel, which was crappy when we had to stay there in high school 20 years ago for UIL competitions.

Are they still selling standard rooms? If so, Platinum Concierge can overwrite a standard room with rack rate and make it an award. They did that for me for a property yesterday. Today though, the standard rooms are loaded  |

Delaware. More proof that Waffle House will come close to the Mason-Dixon line, but never over it. The town I grew up in was north of the line, and we moved when I was 19 and I lurnt not long after moving here that we are below the line...the southern PA border that makes up the line imaginarily extends to the Atlantic and chops off a piece of NJ that no one really wants anyway. It shows, now that I think about it.
