Thanks. I'll check out both Westins. My partner has done the Bonaventure before on a business trip. I looked at the W, but it's more than we're willing to pay for the weekend, even on some of the buy two get one free specials they have running right now.

Speaking of parking, it annoys the crap out of me that Starwood makes that bit of information so darn hard to find on their hotel's individual web pages. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. I'd really like to know in advance what the charge is, yet there are downtown hotels in major cities where I know there's no such thing as free parking, yet I can't seem to find that bit of information on the website anywhere. On the Marriott and Hilton sites, parking information seems to always be there, and always in the same place.

Once again, I find myself wishing Starwood would be more competitive when it comes to its web presence.

I'm not a fan of the Bonaventure, but I have not stayed there in two years - not sure whether they have remodedeled the rooms or not. It is in a great location if you want to be in downtown LA, though.

I was waiting for you to chime in and :rolleyes:

Do you have a particular location where you have to be? Do you prefer to be near any areas? Or, you just want a nice hotel? What do you look for? Do you want restaurants, shopping, beach,...?

Thanks. Checking out the Westin in Pasadena, and the Sheraton Delfina. Looks like that Westin is cheaper.

The Westin Bonaventure doesn't really turn me on too much; staying in Downtown LA on a weekend pleasure trip doesn't really excite us.

It shouldn't. Pasadena or Santa Monica would be much better choices for a weekend visit.

What time are your flights to and from LAX-might be a deciding factor on where you stay this weekend as well

Santa Monica=close to LAX
Pasadena=not so much

Are they still selling standard rooms? If so, Platinum Concierge can overwrite a standard room with rack rate and make it an award. They did that for me for a property yesterday. Today though, the standard rooms are loaded :rolleyes:

The Plat Concierge who dealt with the hotel yesterday attempted to adjust down the Cash and Points requirements on my existing reservation to match the new Cat 5 levels. He received a response from the hotel that all bookings made at the previous Cat 6 level would be charged cash/points at those rates, and that as the hotel no longer had any standard rooms to offer, I was stuck with my Cat 6 Cash/Points reservation, unless I wanted to just cancel outright. :rolleyes:

You didn't by any chance head over to the Brew Kettle? Best beer and wings in CLE. (If you like BBQ)

left Los Angeles International Airport late Tuesday morning on a United Airlines flight bound for the Land of the Rising Sun.

“She had an extra seat in first class,” says the source. “Instead of taking her assistant, she took Doug.”

Damn must be nice :rolleyes:

If I were Paris Hilton, I would be flying SQ F, not UA F. She must be a GS, though. :rolleyes:

I spoke too soon. Called back just now and got everything squared away the way I wanted it.
