Sounds great. What is Buttermilk Pie? Yes, I realize I could look on the internet but I'd rather ask the chef :p

I had an employer like that a while back. They insisted we rent cars from Hertz when other places were 1/2 the price. I ended up having a long talk with the purchasing director about it. He explained that the company got what he called rebates but which really amounted to kickbacks for us meeting a contracted number of rental days. They had similar arrangements for air travel, hotels, etc. I asked where in my travel budget I'd see these rebates credited. After that, he had no problem with my saving the company money and I could rent/fly/stay however I wanted! :D

I hate that corporate crapola. I have NO issue with being cost effective, but I will not do it at my personal detriment and will always politely inquire as to why it makes sense to pay more for a "preferred" partner. Many of the purchasing or travel managers are getting some sort of kickback for the contracts and one wonders if management really understands that practice. My last big corporate employer played all sorts of games until the senior staff finally had enough. A mandated trip leaving at 06:00 on a Sunday for a two stop trip from CLE to MSP finally was enough - people refused to fly on weekends and late nights unless comp time would be issued. This finally got the attentions of the VPs and above, who finally overturned the cheapest possible flight rule.

One of my favs was a buddy who asked his assistance to book him to SEA. She followed the letter of the rules and booked him on WN with about 4 stops and several changes of planes....

Yesterday I drove my son back to school for soccer practice. I parked in the high school parking lot behind the Performing Art Center and got out to watch him. When I returned to my car, it had a big dent on the rear fender. I asked a guy by the back stage entrance if he had seen anyone hit my car. Of course not and there was no note either.
I noticed that the PAC had cameras on every corner of the building so I thought that perhaps they had taped surveilance. So this morning I called and found out that it's only live feed but the guy took down my name and number and said he would ask around. I just assumed he was being polite.

Much to my surprise he called back. He found the person that hit my car. Now I have to wait until Monday to call their insurance company since it's a Ryder Truck rental.

I have a couple of ties that have been in the presense of members of the Royal Family so they will do nicely.

Oh that's it? Does that put pressure on me to produce good photos? ;)

Thanks for that. I've worn different things for potentiallly explosive meetings to keep the other side calm and it works. A good example is dealing with landscape architects and wearing earth tones. Works like a charm.

As far as driving from NJ is concerned, you might want to listen to the traffic reports (1060 is your friend) and take 295 to 76/676 if traffic on 95 through town is .

Traffic reports are every 10 minutes on the 2's. I-95 driving tip when things get heavy. Never come to a complete stop. You can creap along but never stop. The first person who stops messes it up for everyone else for the next two hours.

I remember those days, barely.

I drove through the near east side of Cleveland during a power outage and it was more nerve wracking then when I used to give track rides at the Grand Prix.

And let's just say that it is not the type of neighborhood that flipping the bird is a good idea....

When I lived in Puerto Rico, it was a running joke that the driver's arm, waving out the window, was a magic wand and the car in front of you was going to do something stupid shortly.

If you have flexible supply lines (the kind that either look like a rubber hose, or a flexible braided metal hose), the washers in the connectors can go bad, and it is possible to over-tighten those and ruin the washer. If so, you'll probably just need to shut off the water supply valve, take the hose off, and take it to a hardware store to get a replacement. Be sure to take it with you, though, as while the faucet end of the hose is a standard size, there are a variety of supply valve sizes and connection styles, and you'll need one to match.

My partner just asked me if polygamy was legal in California… free flights is tempting. ;)

ROFLMAO!

Snow and ATL, I dont think the two mix, kinda like oil and water!

Most of the people that have it say it is similiar to a ches pie. It is creamy and delicious. I made this one with Splenda so dont know exactly how it will come out.

4 tbsp Flour
1.75 cups Sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup buttermilk
3 eggs beaten
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1.4 Cinnamon
Pie Crust
1 tsp Vanilla

I don't like tropical weather, I honestly don't care if I never went back to Miami, or any of the islands there.
But I will be back in MIA/FLL within 2 weeks.

What makes this accident so stupid is that the driver had a guide!
