Planning to leave around midday to give me plenty of time in case I hit traffic. Never driven to PHL before, or flown out of there, so I need to get my bearings.

I live closer to EWR and usually fly out of there, but this is a MR and the fare was considerably cheaper out of PHL.

I live closer to EWR too, but sometimes PHL is a lot cheaper -- or it yields more miles :p

I've never tried Winner -- I'll have to check them out. Stopping at Pacifico to fill out their ticket and pick up the driver should take no more than 5 minutes, 10 tops. They're less than a mile farther from PHL than the other parking places on Essington. From there, they drive you to the airport, unload you, and and you walk inside. There's no  about it :p

As far as driving from NJ is concerned, you might want to listen to the traffic reports (1060 is your friend) and take 295 to 76/676 if traffic on 95 through town is .

Just thought I would stop by and say hello. Cooking dinner for someone this evening and inbetween entree and desert we are going to the university were a friend is doing a vocal recital in Russian with an orchestra. Should be a good evening.

Menu:

Appetizer Course:

Cream of Mushroom Soup (no this is not the Chelsa Recipe!)
Mixed Green Salad with granny smith apples, pecans that are pecan pie flavored, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese, and Sun Dried Tomato Vinegarette

Banfi - Rosa Regale

Entree:

Grilled Chicken Breast - marinated in a roasted red pepper italian dressing
Asparagus drizelled with balsamic and red wine vinegar glaze
Mac - n - Cheese (too much talk of it in the box to not make it)

Far Niente - Chardonnay 1994

Dessert

Buttermilk Pie

Lindemans - 1995 Reserve Porphyry

Hope everyone has a good evening!

AviStar is very expensive. I never park at the airport for personal trips, always get a ride, but for business the S/O company pays and uses AviStar.

I am not sure if they are evil, I will take your word for it.

Sounds good.

Has anyone else noticed how the Box influences their life? My recent Shipley binge is certainly evidence of this. :o

I did not have a Z-28, I just had the standard '98 Camaro, but it was fully loaded. I did have the T-Top to properly represent the fact that I was from JRZY :D

In a normal house, that could be an option. However, the adjacent room in this case would be the next door neighbor's master bedroom. And, to further complicate it, the wall between us and them is a concrete block wall, covered with plaster on both sides.

It appears hyatt.com has been taking lessons from spg.com.

I'm trying to book a hotel for 3/1-3/6 and it's telling me it can't book dates in the past. A big fat  to Hyatt.

Yep, it's just a lose connection but I can't get it tightened enough, yet.

If you have flexible supply lines (the kind that either look like a rubber hose, or a flexible braided metal hose), the washers in the connectors can go bad, and it is possible to over-tighten those and ruin the washer. If so, you'll probably just need to shut off the water supply valve, take the hose off, and take it to a hardware store to get a replacement. Be sure to take it with you, though, as while the faucet end of the hose is a standard size, there are a variety of supply valve sizes and connection styles, and you'll need one to match.

My partner just asked me if polygamy was legal in California… free flights is tempting. ;)

Thanks! I've never driven to PHL before, and the only other time I have driven in Philadelphia is when I took my little one to CHOP for some day surgery. I got SO HOPELESSLY LOST driving around PHL, I almost break out in hives thinking about driving there!!!

But now I my little Garmin to help me. Thank god for GPS units!!! Best Christmas present my SO ever gave me!!!

Just saw they're calling for snow here on Monday.:rolleyes::eek:

It's predicted here tomorrow afternoon/night. Glad my flight out of ATL on Monday isn't until late afternoon. Hopefully any mess at ATL should be cleared up by then.

The difference in road distance for me between the two is 10 miles in favor of PHL for me (80-ish vs. 90-ish), but the pain factor to EWR is much higher when it comes to getting there. The AC Expressway to Route 42 is so much more of a breeze to me than the Parkway and the Turnpike combined. And PHL is almost always cheaper (usually by about $50 IME if the dates are the same and the originating city is the only difference) and the connections in IAH are a great mile/segment-builder.

What's a sledge hammer between neighbors?;)

Apparently buckhead is  central here in atlanta. I didn't have the approval of this one driver (minicooper + obama sticker) he parks gets out of his car and starts screaming at me to get out of my car. I am going back to east point.

Yes, Buckhead is  central. We generally try to avoid it as much as possible.

We did have to make a run up there earlier today to pick up an item we were having framed at Michael's. Along the way we encountered a signal that had gone to flashing yellow on Piedmont… and almost rear-ended the idiot in front of us who suddenly decided that a flashing yellow "proceed with caution" light meant "slam on your brakes and stop for absolutely no reason in the middle of a busy street." This isn't the first time we've encountered that behavior here. Apparently in Atlanta, drivers treat a flashing yellow signal the same way as a flashing red signal. Atlanta and Baton Rouge are the only two cities where I've ever encountered that driving habit. It's maddening.

Oh no! That's awful. Hope you feel better quickly.
