Did you go to Delaware to buy it? I bought my 52" LCD from Amazon - no sales tax and no shipping charges.

Places like Best Buy are required to report to the State of NJ that someone from NJ purchased a big ticket item in DE so NJ can collect the tax if Best Buy wants to do business in NJ. Amazon collects the tax for NJ.

I was working in MAD for a few days and the two (Americans, obviously) wanted to go eat at Hard Rock. I'm thinking all these great restaurants and you want to eat there?????

What a silly rule.

And NJ expects us to report all online purchases when filing state income taxes.

Wrap in bubble wrap - those will rarely break.

Just Hard Rock or others?

I have shot glasses from ACY, AMS, BCN, LAS, and several others....CPH I think too. But pins were my big addiction.

When COLPUCK was living in Russia and got to make a trip to Moscow, he looked at the Hardrock as a beacon of western culture, where at least he could enjoy a proper (if poorly mixed) margarita.

Terrible. I was in SAN with my fiancee's family a few years ago for a wedding. One night, they all voted to go to Friday's for dinner.

The 2 of us ended up going up to La Jolla for a real dinner by ourselves...

I HATE Amtrak. My dad used to drag me on it everywhere when he gave up flying.

As my state doesn't have an income tax, I'm expecting them to crack down more tightly than most on internet sales. Hence driving across the state line - it's less than 10 miles away.

I have some stuff that is worth well above retail, but if you don't mind making an introduction, I'd love to move as much of the collection as I can without breaking it up and ebaying the pieces.

Not that I know of. How would Best Buy know I am from PA, if I make a purchase in DE, with CASH. They don't care. The only way they charge tax, is if the purchase is made in DE, but delivered to PA. Then I'd have to pay the sales tax relevant to where I live. Amazon may collect tax for NJ, they didn't for PA (when I lived there), and don't for TX.:D
