Nope. I think it can be done.

When I gave up meat it was very popular within the BLEX family, who were furriers :D

I've actually considered taking a cross country trip on a train, but I fear that I'd regret the decision about an hour or two in to the journey.

+1

The train from MAD to BCN should be interesting. My longest train ride to date is Hamilton Station to NYP.

Is it on your calendar? Make it happen!

But how in the world would they know? Most people don't ask for ID, and if they do, just show them a passport and there is no way to track it.

And NJ expects us to report all online purchases when filing state income taxes.

Every state does, it's kind of silly. It amazes me that in a state with such high property tax that the sales tax is 7%. I'm still surprised this one stuck given how badly it failed the last time they bumped it to 7%.

I have a shot glass collection, though I stopped adding to it a few years ago.

Terrible. I was in SAN with my fiancee's family a few years ago for a wedding. One night, they all voted to go to Friday's for dinner.

The 2 of us ended up going up to La Jolla for a real dinner by ourselves...

La Jolla was a good choice! From what I hear, the Friday's in La Jolla is the #1 revenue Fridays. Not that anyone cares. Does it help make their food any better? No. I once dated a girl that thought Fridays was the best food and her favorite.

Credit card records.

But how would they have access to them? Furthermore, it's hard to prove if a purchased item was a) brought into NJ and not gifted. I buy plenty of things in other states that never get home. Plus, if your credit card statement goes to another state, how would they know?

I have no issue with European trains - they know how to run on time.

Oh yeah. I took it in 2006 from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Nearly 60 hours in a Roomette. I did it for the experience, and while it wasn't horrible, I've not felt the need to do it again.

That's the slow stuff. We have faster Amtrak trains here such as the first train in that video isn't the fastest stuff.

I'm going to need to hook up the ancient computer to get my Adjusted Gross Income from last year to file this year's tax return ...

My longest train ride to date is CDG-BRU on the Thalys in Comfort 1. Without the light meal and free WiFi, I would have been pretty bored.

Amtrak doesn't offer WiFi, so I'm pretty sure I'd lose my mind if I was on a train for 2 days.

I do remember reading that that enviable distinction belonged to the landside Friday's in TPA as of last year.

Why? They just put in a high speed rail that take about 2 hours.

It's got to be better than JK.

I lived in McCook, NE for a while and we lost airline service for a bit (prop to DEN, but nonetheless, service) and I had to take Amtrak to connet in DEN or OMA unless I wanted to drive five hours. How many times do you think I missed my flights? That's right, almost every time!

Try DC (Union) to Orlando on the Silver "Meteor". 14 hours later (without a roomette) ...
