Waking up at god knows what hour to get to NYC for the 730 bus to Phila, taking the train to PHL then the plane to IAH, this is going to be one long day. I hope I score an upgrade so I can catch a nap. |
I will be like Caesar in History of the World, More wine, more wine….

Two photos merged... Empennage got sacrificed. Either that, or they're starting to chop up retired HP/US Airbi right at their gates...

Afternoon Box. At ORD now, after a pretty darn good (for UA and Shuttle America) DFW-ORD flight on an EMB-170 in F. Only thing wrong with it was the plane was full of families with hyper little kids. They were cute, but rather loud. Of course that's to be expected when traveling at Thanksgiving I guess.
Next flight is ORD-CLT on a UA 735. I'm sure this flight won't be nearly as nice as the last. I seriously doubt that mainline UA can come through with a clean 735, working seats, and a happy, friendly crew that's in a good mood. Normally you'd expect a better experience from mainline than an express partner, but with UA, I've generally found to expect the opposite. |

Not criticizing you or your grammar, but how did "Airbi" get started on FlyerTalk as the plural of "Airbus?" The plural form of "bus" is "buses," not "bi," so shouldn't it be "Airbuses?"
But, the New England Patriots are known as the "Flying Elvii" because of the helmet graphics, and "Airbii" probably came somehow from that. |

Two users to go until the new FM is complete - back to painting.

On a slightly different note, www.ContinentalDO.com is now updated for DO IV. |

Try to use every component of your seat (including the audio jack). If anything's busted, you might as well get an Ecert out of it.

I had forgotten how much I liked the CLT atrium area between the concourses. I haven't set foot in this portion of the CLT terminal since this week in 1997, when my family and I traveled to the DC area for Thanksgiving on a US mistake fare (IAH-BWI round trip all in for around $95).
I've got a four hour layover, and plan on spending it here, since there's not anything but US lounges here, and I'm not forking over $40 for a day pass to a US lounge. This is probably much nicer anyway, with the trees, pianist, view of the planes (looking at the Piedmont 319 for the third time on this trip) and the mobile over the bar with the different flying machines. |
Do/Thing/Meet IV FM is done, to date. The link, username, and password are in the other thread.

First college football post of the day: I had never seen a player hydroplane until I was surfing past the Florida-FSU game. One of the Gators gained about five yards that unfortunately didn't count.

If you are not going into one of the lounges, check out one of the rocking chairs. I really liked those when I was a US flyer and sometimes did not even go into the Club but just lazed in one of them.

FlightMemory is finally up to date again. I've been flying too much, and too busy, and haven't kept up with it.
Tonight's last flight will be flight number 725, and will add a new route (CLT-ATL) and a new plane (EMB-190). |
