FlightMemory is finally up to date again. I've been flying too much, and too busy, and haven't kept up with it.

Tonight's last flight will be flight number 725, and will add a new route (CLT-ATL) and a new plane (EMB-190).

Your Domestic FM is sufficiently ridiculous. Time to get to work on the international bits. :D

I've got a four hour layover, and plan on spending it here, since there's not anything but US lounges here, and I'm not forking over $40 for a day pass to a US lounge. This is probably much nicer anyway, with the trees, pianist, view of the planes (looking at the Piedmont 319 for the third time on this trip) and the mobile over the bar with the different flying machines.

I love this airport. Love the white walls, the high ceiling, the brightness and the rocking chairs. Even the food choices were good.

Yeah...I saw that. So far the Gators are playing like there isn't a monsoon going on around them, other than the few hydroplane events.

If you are not going into one of the lounges, check out one of the rocking chairs. I really liked those when I was a US flyer and sometimes did not even go into the Club but just lazed in one of them.

I love those rocking chairs. They have some in STL, too.

Smith Street is in the Matrix Reloaded

...and in other random news I was watching the Matrix Reloaded (the second one) and just noticed 1600 Smith Street was in the foreground of the city skyline along with the Enron building and the Freedom Center.

Hmmm...maybe I have too much time on my hands.

I'm working on those too. It would help if I could land some international assignments at work.

Personal travel in 2009 should add at least 5-6 international lines to the map, along with new airports on at least two continents.

Which building is the Freedom Center?

I'm working in Dallas December 9-11. My partner is flying to Dallas the evening of December 12 after work, so I'm staying over the weekend with him.

A friend and former coworker in Houston I haven't seen in over a year wants to have lunch on Friday, December 12 with another former coworker of ours.

How insane is it for me to fly DAL-IAH, have lunch, and fly back to DAL a few hours later? The fare isn't too ridiculous. I'm supposed to be saving money, but the temptation to blow about $175 on flights and a rental car for lunch with two friends I haven't seen in over a year sure is tempting. And it's not like I want to just sit around in my hotel room all day that Friday.

PHL and SAN have them as well.

One complaint about CLT — electric outlets are impossible to find. I'm about to have to move on to another location due to the lack of outlets in the atrium and my laptop battery that is down to 29%.

Personal travel has already added one new line in 2009 for me, as I've never been to or connected thru IAH. The job I'm interviewing for on Wednesday has potential to add lines, but I'm not sure of how many.

With the exception of EWR-LGW-EWR all of my international travel has been personal. Come to think of it, most of my domestic routes have happened at least once for personal travel, too.

That's a bit more than I'd be happy paying. Doesn't mean I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't be super happy paying for it.

Found out I'm probably going to the Jets-Denver game tomorrow. The BIL of the future came into some seats.

Yeah, that's my dilemma. I'd really like to meet them for lunch, and this is my only opportunity to do it for a long time. I could use miles, but that's a waste. I've got a free ticket on WN I could use, but again, even that's worth a lot more to me than a $125 ticket.

ssullivan Nov 29, 2008 5:30 pm

Ugh. This trip just got less awesome. US just delayed my CLT-ATL flight an hour.

And to make it worse, there's a US Dividend Miles MasterCard sign up table adjacent to my gate with two people working it who keep saying "Sir/Ma'am, are you flying US Airways today?" as they pull people over to sign them up for the credit card.

At least I found a power outlet.
