PHL and SAN have them as well.

As does BOS. Terminal B, in the hallway between the two US wings. No power there either, but at least it's quiet, and you have a great view of the ramp.

Finally cracked open the bottle of Gosling's 140 that I suddenly realized I've been sitting on for the past 2yrs. It's not horrible...

Surprise, surprise. We not only took off from CLT, but eventually the fog cleared just enough to get the southern most runway at ATL just within the minimum visibility requirements so that we could land. Not at the gate yet, but at least I'm on the ground, and know I won't be spending the night at a hotel in Charlotte. At one point it really looked like we were going to have to turn around and go back to CLT so I think we're pretty lucky to be here at ATL.

What is your objection to use of the term "DO"?

As someone else who objects to "Do", I will say that I think it's goofy. It just rubs me the wrong way; it sounds pretentious and full of itself. My $.02 of course.

I do not like the term "Do" either. Maybe we can call it the "Event"

I think I am going to buy a new pda/cell phone tomorrow. Anyone have the Samsung Omnia? I am thinking of purchasing that or maybe waiting until the spring and get a Palm Treo Pro.

I can't sleep. :td:

We finished painting save for the ceiling/wall edging. ^

I got out of bed and tried to leave the bedroom...there's still furniture impeding the doorway. I try to get around and close the bedroom door, and in the process the bedroom door cruises right over my right big toenail, ripping off just about the forward half of it.

Home at last. What an evening.

And the cats didn't totally destroy the place, although they dumped their food all over the floor and tipped over a canister full of kitchen utensils on the floor. Now the kitten is running wild. I'm sure he won't let me sleep at all tonight.

OUCH!

I did something similar in our room at the Millenium Hilton in NYC back in September. Only I ripped off all of a toenail on the small toe on my left foot, and broke the toe as well.

ConciergeMike Nov 29, 2008 10:23 pm

The odd part is that it wasn't terribly painful. I certainly knew that a door and my toe had interacted, but it wasn't expletive-inducing pain. Now, having said that, I have no doubt that I'll wake up in agony and there will be those green monster infected toe things from the commercial all over my foot.

LOL I'll have to wait until someone gives me a diamond bracelet to see how it ranks with the Wii.;) In the mean time, I can barely lift my arms this morning from playing Wii Tennis and Boxing the last few days.

Good Morning, Box.:)

Something that I have always found odd was that the LAS airport has had a CO Chase booth for several years. From all indications the market is leisure for CO and not that big of a market so it was always interesting in my opinion that they would be trying to get people to get the CO Chase cards there.

As far as being pushy, I dont know if they were as I was always on the 6:45 to 7:15 departure to IAH and that was not a time to get people as the booth was closed.

I do not have strong feelings for or against the term "DO," but I do find it curious that people have such strong feelings against it. FWIW, I think the terms "Meet" or "Event" are no better or worse than "DO." Actually, in considering it a bit more, I think "Meet" is pretty lame, and that "DO" is better.

At this point, however, the term "DO" has earned such significant meaning with respect to Flyertalk events that it is sufficiently entrenched not to be replaced anytime soon. Time will tell.

I prefer "Thing". The FT etymology of "Do" was rooted in a bad pun. At least "Thing" has a root in a movie reference.
