Ugh. This trip just got less awesome. US just delayed my CLT-ATL flight an hour.

And to make it worse, there's a US Dividend Miles MasterCard sign up table adjacent to my gate with two people working it who keep saying "Sir/Ma'am, are you flying US Airways today?" as they pull people over to sign them up for the credit card.

At least I found a power outlet.

I was watching the Georgia/GT game earlier, and like the weather in TLH, it was raining. I am sure it is a WX delay for your trip. Either that, or a pigeon flew over CLT and left a dropping, causing all sorts of delays.

Last time I traversed LAS, they were doing that. Annoyed me incessantly.

Yep, it's weather. They finally announced that, after making several announcements that the flight was delayed an hour without giving an reason at all.

I'm not mad at US for a weather delay, but they could have just said that to begin with, instead of not saying it and then having half the passengers on the plane rush the counter to ask why it was delayed.

It's raining here too, but not very hard. Apparently ATL is the problem. CLT departures are still running pretty much on time to most destinations.

One of the passengers just yelled at the guy pushing the credit card and told him he was tired of them asking him if he was flying US Airways and then trying to pull him aside three or four times a week.

For our friends flying to the CO Meet IV, as you traverse through Terminal D at PHL, you too will be greeted by the credit card pushers, except those hawking WN's cards. Every time I went through and showed 'em my CO BP. It quieted them down.

I'll have to try that. In an odd way, I'm looking forward to seeing PHL-D at a busier time of day.

PHL D when it's busy? Get there early. Hope you don't mind standing in the parking garage to wait to clear security.

This was in another thread recently. I have never seen the mythical line that is talked about on FT. Not saying it doesn't exist, but I've never witnessed it. I'm planning on getting there about 10:00-ish for a 12:05 departure, unless the other two (so far) Box-ers on my flight have another idea.

I've seen it several times, always on a Friday afternoon around 5:00-6:00 PM.

Now posting from a US EMB-190 sitting on the ramp at CLT. The ATL ground stop has now been extended until 9:45 PM. This is mostly due to fog, and given the weather, I seriously doubt the fog is going to suddenly disappear. They boarded us knowing we'd be sitting on the ramp for a while because they needed the gate for another plane. So here we sit. At this point I wish they'd just cancel the flight and rebook us for the morning, since that's what I suspect is going to happen anyway. ATL has been closed to arrivals and departures for quite a while now, and I'm not sure anything's going to change between now and tomorrow morning.

PHL D has both the WN card and the UA card hawkers in there. The UA folks kept saying "sign up and get a free ticket anywhere in the world UA flies." I actually got so sick of listening to the lies (it was near one of the very few outlets so I wasn't moving) that I went up and confronted him and explained to him just how badly he was misrepresenting the program and the benefit that he was hawking. I don't think he liked me too much for that.

I've never been on the late flight out of PHL so I, too, have never seen the ridiculous line.

What is your objection to use of the term "DO"?

I had forgotten how much I liked the CLT atrium area between the concourses. I haven't set foot in this portion of the CLT terminal since this week in 1997, when my family and I traveled to the DC area for Thanksgiving on a US mistake fare (IAH-BWI round trip all in for around $95).

I've got a four hour layover, and plan on spending it here, since there's not anything but US lounges here, and I'm not forking over $40 for a day pass to a US lounge. This is probably much nicer anyway, with the trees, pianist, view of the planes (looking at the Piedmont 319 for the third time on this trip) and the mobile over the bar with the different flying machines.

Yes, that area is rather nice.

Not quite sure how that got started. But I think that "airbi" sounds better than "airbuses." And in this modern world of appearances that we live in, proper grammar sometimes must be sacrificed for the sake of cooler-sounding, if completely made-up, terminology.
