That creme brulee stout sounds disgusting.

Why don't all PClubs have Biscoff cookies? Thank you LAX PClub for making my day. :)

I can speak from first hand experience it is not as bad as it sounds. It smelled like sweet flavored coffee, and tasted like it a bit. not bad...not great would never order again, when it comes to stouts i am a Guinness man

I once drank Foster's while in Ireland because I thought Guinness was such crap. Tasted like the bottoms of an infrequently cleaned fireplace. I wish I could find a link to the story about the rat droppings in the vats. It's in the Nick Pashely book, "Notes on a Beermat". Can't find a link.

At MSY waiting to board our evac flight to IAH. CO added flights and is sending bigger planes... They have been great here.

Bummer to cut the party short, but Bourbon Street is already boarded up.

Will send a note off to CO about how well the handled getting us rebooked and out of here.

I was surprised that the CO offering is Bombay. ^

And it's not just the regular Bombay gin, but it's Bombay Sapphire, in a real blue glass bottle. It was first class on CO that got me hooked on gin and tonics. ^^^

IAH C South had a huge bowl of nothing but Biscoffs sitting on the bar last week when I was in there for about 20 minutes.

Hope at least part of the weekend was fun!

How big of planes are they sending over to MSY? Any 767s or 777s, or just the big 73's and 757s?

Tonight's CO4 is a 757-300 and CO872 is a 737-900. Tomorrow's CO822 and CO422 are 737-800 and CO522 is a 737-700. I don't know about tomorrow's CO4, it says ship #419 but doesn't list anything, maybe a swap. There are a couple of RJ-145 flights each day as well. No widebody stuff so far.

I'm not a beer drinker but I figured that I better taste a Guinness while in Ireland. The first drink was at the clubhouse pub of Home Farm Soccer Club in Dublin. It was great and I actually had two of them. I had another one in Killarnary, that wasn't very good. I commented on how the two tasted some different and was told that it wasn't unusual to have that type of experience since the taste depended upon the brew and who was pulling the draft. I was also informed that the best Guinness in Ireland was served at Home Farm Soccer Club.

So if you are ever in Ireland again, go visit Home Farm for their Guinness. Although Home Farm is a private soccer club, anyone is welcome to join them at their Club House Pub.

Truer words...

I don't even like Guinness in North America anymore, since it is made in Canada. The real stuff that comes from Dublin is like no other, and the brewery tour is pretty cool too.

Negative, sir. The fruit gets blended and then filtered out, resulting in fortified dessert wine.

A few of the soccer parents did this tour and said that the Guinness at the tour place was crap compared to the stuff Home Farm served. They did love the view from the top of the building.

I dunno, I was there for St. Patrick's Day and we drank a lot of Guinness at a lot of different places, and it was all good. In any event, the view from their top bar is quite lovely.
