Why do I feel like I'm half hungover today when I only had two cocktails last night at the Obama watch party we went to?

I can't resist: are you drunk on rhetoric? :p ;)

I'm equally excited over the other side - Gov. Palin by all indications looks like a real solid choice short of her experience, which is a given thanks to her age.

I'd hate for The Box to turn into OMNI, but you are the first person I have heard (or read) that feels that Palin is a solid choice.

It will be interesting to see how things turn out...

I don't identify one way or another, and I too will save the bigger arguments for OMNI. Off the top of my head, I do like her as a choice...I'll admit I haven't had a lot of time to research; purely gut reaction after about two articles. But I'm also at work and can't see what the talking heads are doing to her. I would assume the media is tearing her to shreds over something or other.

I was hesitant at first when I heard this but whats not to like about her (taken from wikipedia):

She hunts, eats moose hamburger, ice fishes, rides snowmobiles, and owns a float plane. Palin holds a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association. In December 2007, Palin posed for a photo spread in the fashion magazine Vogue.

She definitely does sound like a down to earth, backwoods "hockey mom" - just as she described herself. Maybe that is part of the problem for some? I don't know...

(I'm keeping this generic to avoid political arguments and sharing my opinion.)

Please stop the talk about politics. The box isn't the place for that. Politics give me a headache. It is for alcohol related discussions. Now, about that creme brulee stout. Yum!

Last comment on this, promise: the media only tears apart non-liberals. I too despise the media, as numerous posts in my history here can attest to.

I'm about ready for dinner break...our cafeteria has been a crapateria recently...

That's such bull. The media tears apart people on all sides of the political spectrum. Some are decidedly more conservative and some are more liberal. But this crap that "the media" encompassing all publications, tv stations, radio stations, magazines, and all other outlets is completely liberal is ridiculous. Even Fox News, with all it's "fair and balanced" hoopla is very obviously conservative leaning and will give far more favorable coverage to a conservative politician than a liberal one.

There are different media outlets that appeal to different people, because we all have different opinions. If you don't like what one channel is saying about your favorite candidate, change the channel. There is most definitely another one out there that's saying just what you want to

I totally agree except for the creme brulee stout. :p

Since I helped to drag the Box down in the first place today, I'll help to bring it back. I've been meaning to bring this up and I keep forgetting. For the non-beer people out there: does anything taste even somewhat similar to Ketel One? I need to have a second choice in case wherever I am doesn't have Ketel. I know beer is the perferred libation here, but there are several notable vodka drinkers here, IIRC.
