Have any of you been on a CHQ flight in the last 7 days? The last three I've been on (CLE-ORD, ORD-CLE, CLE-RDU) have reverted back to the back-to-front beverage service. Seems odd that it just mysteriously started again.

I've been sulking about having to take this trip to Deliverance, I mean West Virginia, but at least I get to sit up front in a 737.
My dad had to buy a last minute ticket to YYZ for next week and paid $1300 to sit on an ERJ for a 2.5+ hours. |

What carrier/routing did you end up going with?
They understood me not wanting to burn up an entire day getting to this place, especially the leaving at 6:05am to connect in CLT and PHL. |

I'm taking the CO flight direct to PIT and then driving to WV. Everyone who has walked by me today has made banjo noises as they pass. Jerks.

Banjo noises are minor harassment - I would have pasted Ned Beatty faces up everywhere I could. :p

Glad to hear they were understanding. My sympathies for having to endure PIT and WV in the same day.
Enjoy! :D |
Oh boy, a new FlightMemory line in the works... JAN-DFW. JAN-DFW-IAH was only a few $$$ more than just JAN-IAH. Why the heck not? Besides, the AA ERJ doesn't have an F cabin, so I won't suffer upgrade anxiety due to my OneWorld Peon (BA Blue) status. :D

LAX, SEA, SFO, LAS?
Though, no real breweries stick out in my mind as "special" enough for the box. |

Too bad none of us managed to do the old ASA flights that made two or more stops between DFW and ATL in places like SHV, MLU, JAN, AEX, LFT, and MEI. Those flights existed right up until the end of EMB-120 service out of DL's DFW hub in about 2003. And years ago DL used to run a DC-9 on some of those. |
Have any of the FT'ers from the NE been to Sandy Hook Beach in Jersey? Ive got a few friends that are going tomorrow but it looks like the weather might be bad. Is there anything to do around there if it is raining? ie. bars

Considering that the Significant Otter is being adamant about getting the wedding ring from the same jeweler in St. Thomas that I got the engagement ring from... I think it's time I evaluated her fortitude for ridiculous routings (a tune-up for the honeymoon). To wit: MLU-IAH Colgan Air Saab 340 IAH-SJU CO 738 ----- (overnight SJU) SJU-STT Cape Air Cessna 402 ----- (overnight STT) EIS-SXM Windward Islands Airways Twin-Otter SXM-SDQ Dutch Antilles Express Fokker-100 ----- (few nights in SDQ) SDQ-PTY CM 73G ----- (few nights in PTY) PTY-IAH CO 73G |

It's a huge, and really nice National Park, with a little reputation. ;) The ferry ride over from Manhattan is pretty nice too. If it rains you're not going to have a nice time. There's a "restaurant" / bar in, I believe, Area C, called the Pelican's nest. There's also a few restaurants in the town next to Sandy Hook called Atlantic Highlands. I've never been to any of them. It's a bit tamer than further South on the Jersey shore. We actually contemplated going this weekend but looks like the weather tomorrow isn't going to be conducive to the beach. And our flight out is pretty early on Sunday. Might try and make it down Labor Day weekend when we get back. The great thing about Sandy Hook is, being a park, it's rather desolate and very clean. If you include the beaches on the intercoastal waterway side, there's probably close to 20 or so. So, if one's full (and you can tell by the parking lot) there's always one without a lot of people. Plus, on a clear day you get a great view of the Manhattan skyline (and the heavy arrival pattern into JFK). ... and then there's "the" beach. |
