My virtual persona, Throckmorton P. Guildersleeve III, Esq., is currently taking off on the longest runway ever. I've been taking off from LAX for more than ten minutes!

*This is the biggest waste of time since Nation States. ;)

I'm now going over to check that site out. Keep me posted if you run across any paint-drying sims.

The Disputed Territories of Gerveedia is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, socially-minded government is effectively ruled by the Department of Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 37%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Information Technology.

Crime is relatively low. Gerveedia's national animal is the walrus, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the dingmar.

It's not paint-drying and it isn't a sim, but you may be interested in this.

Thank you.

In other news, my young Nation-State's Motto is: "If other people are doing it, it's probably okay."

Cyber Nations is like Nation States but is slightly more involved. In any event, I've spent about half an hour on all of them (which means I played for six months) and then realized that though I may be at work, I really do have better things to do. They quickly lose appeal, though not quite as quickly as Virtual Flights.

I find it impressive that you can say that with a straight face whilst posting in The Box. :D

I have a very dry sense of humor. ;)

Hair Loss Firm Teams With DL for 20,000 SkyMiles Consultation Promo

Will CO match? Even better, perhaps CO should team up with a proctologist or gastroenterologist and offer 25,000mi. for a consultation. How many miles would it take for you to undertake a prostate exam or colonoscopy?

ConciergeMike Aug 14, 2008 7:24 pm

The airlines already have advanced degrees in proctology. Except they have a strange name for it: "pricing".

I always called it a paper towel tube, or a "der-der", for an incredibly obscure reference that I wouldn't be surprised someone here knows.

I have never ever understood line dancing. I just don't get it.

Even worse, I've seen some roach motels get kicked out of Best Western. Can you imagine how awful a hotel would have to be to get kicked out of Best Western???
