I'm presently being virtually audacious and unmitigated en route to Tokyo. God save the F cabin.

Hosed on the NYC-DCA route

I got a call this afternoon that I need to be in Washington, DC at 9am on Saturday for work. The only flight that gets me there anywhere close to on time is the 8am on US. I cannot do it. I just won't. There's not even an Acela that can get me there on time. The first CO flight is at 10a and DL's first Shuttle on Saturdays is now at 8:30. Ugghhhh. I think I'm going to end up on the DL flight and just deal with getting there 40 minutes after the guy coming in from Atlanta, but it sucks.

That being said, further proof that the route is pretty much entirely business folks, with zero demand (and therefore zero service) on a Saturday morning.

My relationship with FT sucks today. Posts are taking forever, pages aren't loading, and worst of all I can't seem to get out of this damn chair.

Regarding Cheesesteak Saturday: I can do local stuff, but I think I'm out for IAD and the like. That Saturday, now that I think of it, is the final day that I'll have with the girlfriend when she still holds the "girlfriend" title. The next time I see her after that, it'll be diamond time.

Are Friday Night and a Hotel Stay out of the question?

You are not alone. FT seems to be suffering a TIA at the moment (Transient Internet Attack).

I was unaware one could collect miles and segment credits for driving. :D

Ladies and Gentlemen, post of the day.

I'm so thankful that no one has yet invented a 12-step program for deprogramming us. I worry that if we involve too many Significant Otters/Others in future DOs, that they may come up with the idea on their own.

For this weekend, yes, as I have dinner plans on Friday night that I'm not changing.

Well, I could collect Hertz points.

Moreover, I live in Manhattan, where owning a car is more of a liability than a benefit, and I'd have to be up too early in the morning to get there on time. I'll just tell them to suck it up and deal with me getting to the office around 10 instead. I'm sure it will be fine in the end.

The closest hotel to where I need to be in WV is an AmeriHost, which I didn't even know existed.

I have seen the interior of one of those (in Omaha, IIRC). Best avoided.
