I have been on a few CO flights with this one male FA who makes a similar announcement to shut off all cell phones, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, Motorola Q’s, P’s, and so on.

After his announcement, while we push back from the gate, the FA walks down the aisle towards the rear and notices a woman on her cell phone, he taps her shoulder and says, “Excuse me, but there is know way that 112 other people heard my announcement and you didn’t. Unless you are closing some multi-million deal, shut that thing off girl”

Anyone else have him, he was actually really funny when annoyed.

I've heard similar "berry" bits a few times, including from the Delta FA yesterday on my flight to DCA.

I'm glad to hear that there are some FAs who are willing to directly address the problem of people not following the rules rather than just continually repeating the announcement on the PA. People assume those announcements don't apply to them. It is human nature and has been studied/documented for years. By directly addressing the person(s) causing the problem the issue is resolved and the rest of the cabin doesn't have to be bothered with the repeated announcements. I'd love to hear a PA announcement for "the guy in 10C to hang up his phone already" but I'm guessing that will never happen. Public humiliation is hard on the ego but would be great for the rest of us. ;)

I was not aware that such a thing was open to conjecture. :D

There were times in college that I was so drunk that I was not actually sure that I was drunk at all.

I recently flew on a US DCA-PBI flight where the male FA made the usual electronic announcement and then started to walk down the isle of the 319 with a napkin a pen. At each row where somebody was still talking on their phone, he would make a mark on his napkin. He got the back of the plane and then said, will the person in row 3/10/14/15/etc. please discontinue use of the phone.

And so we return to the story of my bump voucher and a resulting question for The Box: my plan to burn this voucher has morphed into an attempt to play the bump game. I'm thinking PHL-IAH-West Coast, one night turn. Are there any notoriously good IAH flights that I should try to get myself on?

Good times and one or two stories regarding the cue ball.

I'm not now. And fortunately I'm not hungover either.

I was an evening DO participant, and I though it was a fine time. If our tab at the restaurant was any measure ($220 in ritas for myself, ssullivan, and colpuck), then I'd say it was a roaring success.

I think I tried too hard to catch up. Wine sneaks up on me.
