I collect coffee mugs, my parents get me one everytime they go somewhere. Which is usually a repeat of one I have already got.

I also collect everything CO that can go into a beverage cart.

I have a collection of scouting stuff from my scouting days that others add more to my collection than I do. This stuff comes from my dads friend in CA, I wrote a thank you note and mentioned I now collect CO stuff ;)!

That's retarded. What do they do? ID you to get the address? What if you refuse to show them your ID? Or do they just ask, in which case you could just make up a Delaware address?

Credit card records.

Start sending real cards. My goal for 09 and I've done pretty well. Shall we trade stamps for currency coupons when I finally receive my 27?

I had the same thing happen several years ago traveling with friends in Europe. Our last day in Barcelona, the two of them insisted on having lunch at Hard Rock, which entailed about a 90 minute wait, followed by ridiculously slow service. Three hours later we had had our fill of mass produced American food, and wasted a good portion of the afternoon. They then wanted to go back to the apartment we were renting to nap. I said that was fine, but that I wanted to explore the city some more. While they napped, I struck out on my own and had an incredible time exploring for a few hours.

I can't fault them too much, as this was the only time in nearly two weeks of travel together that something like that happened. And really, it was only one of those two who was throwing a fit about needing to eat at Hard Rock. The other one was far more into trying new things.

There was an article recently about those who bought stuff at the CC liquidation - $1k+ TVs that are broken and cannot be returned (all sales final).

The former CC in my town is still lit up - right by the IHOP where I had dinner. It's also in the same mall as the recent LnT ...

Indeed we are. We're nearly total opposites on some stuff and yet me make a great team. She makes fun of the geekery level displayed on FT, but has said in the same paragraph that she wants to meet you.

I received a CO stocking the Christmas before last. All off of Ebay. Also, an old Pan Am amenity kit and various other fun things. I have a bunch of preproduction and production samples in my office that are pretty great for collectors.

Amtrak is Awesome.

Oh yeah. I took it in 2006 from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Nearly 60 hours in a Roomette. I did it for the experience, and while it wasn't horrible, I've not felt the need to do it again.

After arriving at my hotel in LA, I did enjoy my first real shower and first non-Amtrak meal in more than two days. That was the first order of business after that trip.
