EWR-PHL on the Q + US or WN PHL-PIT. Is it unappetizing? Sure. But even the most anti-WN crowd on here could probably stomach 45 minutes on them to position yourself for an MR.

Or just take the EWR-PIT direct. ;)

I got hit in the head with a boom once, when I was teaching a girl to sail on a sunfish. I was assessing a problem with the tiller and she decided that warning me about the uncommanded jibe was not important. OW OW OW. Though that may explain a lot.

He wanted cheap. I think CO is all by itself on that route again.

I don't think US has plans to drop the route until late March. For now, the cheapest base fare from EWR-PIT is $98. :)

Flights from PIT and ERI have been very good to us in the Cleveland area. Both are a manageable drive away and often have absolutely silly fares in comparison to what you find starting out from CLE. I will gladly suck up and drive if I am saving hundreds of dollars in airfare.

Even then, they'll still be competing with US, B6, DL, and AA for traffic to the NYC area. I don't see them jacking up the PIT-EWR fares when US drops PIT-EWR.

Why would one do that when one could make the staging trip a MR?

Good point, especially if this fare that started the discussion was available at a time when CO is in *A - then the US flight could be credited, and you go from getting 81 EQM and a no credit segment to 400+EQM. Every little EQM helps.

To avoid a Q200 on a route that is prone to delays and WN/US? ;)

ConciergeMike Feb 23, 2009 12:42 pm

Hasn't the PHL-EWR service been behaving pretty well timewise this time around?

I was getting to PIT the long way (via IAH, hublet) - I meant a real MR to get to PIT.

Seriously - if I can find six segments to fly BNA-ORD ;)
