SFOGate,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you go through this difficult time.

Went to look at a new(for me) car. I donated mine to the "keep my child in college" program. Been in a rental for about the last month.

2001 Accord Coupe,
ad said 127,000 miles
Car fax says 143,000
oops

The Car fax mileage was reported when car got inspected(10/08)
Wonder what the chances are they had a typo, hmmmm

If I were going to roll back an odometer, I believe I'd take it back more than
the 15K difference reported

There's only about a $200 KBB difference based on the mileage.
Car was in pretty darn good shape either way

Just dislike the idea of not really knowing

So I am hoping for an Op-Up next Saturday on my NRT trip. Only a few seats not filled and the online tools not showing coach avaliable. :)

This is a day I should have just stayed in bed. My car required 4 new tires. It should not have needed new tires for at least 7,000 more miles. One had a nail; the others were just  It also screwed up my schedule for half of the day.

Took baglady jr. to ballet and was rear ended on Kirby. Fortunately I was stopped and driver was going slow; no one hurt and car is okay. Still . Drove to a meeting that was .

I did, however; get to see Elmo today :)

Hell, my father in law used to drive on tires till you could almost see the air inside.
Although I would imagine the frozen white stuff is rare out there, worn tires and rain are not a good combination. You were going to have to replace 'em soon anyhow. Just look at it as an accident avoided.

I love my Okimate printer, but not with GEOS.

Hence, I was programming in PostScript.:p

BagLady - I hope everything is alright and that the car issues are done for awhile. :(

Did you at least hear about the tires before reading it here?

I am thinking I may just spend my HH points for my hotel in Tokyo. Has anyone stayed at the Conrad Tokyo? I can get the majority of our nights there free. I may just tell my friend she foots the rest of the hotel bills for me picking up those nights if I go for it (of course I will leave my HH # on the record). :)

I think I am going to do the Alaska Elite Up tomorrow morning as their lines closed at 5:45 pm today!

Huzzah!

Could I get you to talk to Baglady for 4 or 5 hours on this topic?

They have no 767s to send out right now. But there was a day when EWR-LAX was flown 1-2 times a day on a 762 and the 777 used to be scheduled on LAX-IAH-EWR runs.

I was on a 767 IAH-LAX in BF and my seat was next to Farrah Fawcett's. I was able to find somebody to swap with me so I could instead sit next to Baglady.:D

Becareful of the 2001 Accords (and Acura TL and CL's) with automatic transmissions. They were not reliable transmission maiinly because they didn't have filters in them. Yes I have a 2001 accord with 153,000 and transmission #2 but I fared much better than most people as mine had issues (half shaft bearings wore out and became the Exxon Valdez) at 128,000 miles. Most blew up with less than 40K. Other wise the best car I've had.

Anything automotive, mechanical, insect related or requiring maintenance, I hear about.

Traveling out of state (or country) is just plain iffy.

They left the filter out of the design? How  of them...

Just did my first Low Fare Guarantee on CO.com. It was surprisingly easy and hassle free. The agent even waited for me to book my fiancée a ticket so I could get two of them.^ I guess this just off sets the $125 in pet fees we will be paying too.:td:

FWIW, it is 8/1 LGA-IAH 8/2 IAH-LGA. Its a mini MR to pick up the dog and bring her to her new home in NYC.
