My dad has taken a turn for the worst and I have been advised to get myself and the kids to CLT ASAP. :( Leaving tonight for IAH at 6:35pm and checking into a hotel for a few hours of rest. I hate flying redeyes. Leaving first thing Friday morning for CLT on an ERJ. Traveling postive emergency space so I don't have to worry about getting seats.

Getting back home on Friday is not going to be the easiest thing. Flights out of CLT are full. Will try going via UA Air since they have a non-stop and if that doesn't work I have confirmed seats on Saturday.

 My luck just ran out.

Terribly sorry to hear about your Dad. And I thought my wife getting the layoff notice today was the end of the world. Thanks for the perspective. Safe travels to you and your family. :(

How is it that my Passport *still* isn't recognized on check in but dergon_gf's is. I've supposedly fixed this like 4 times now .....grr.

Anyway

Enjoy your London time, COflyerCLE.

And condolences, sfogate :(

Good luck! You'll need it. You've got some really tough routes to upgrade on in there.

The EWR-LIM flights are the only nearly sure things.

Getting laid off isn't good and in your world it is the end of the world.
Sorry to hear your news.

To everyone:

Thank you for your kind words and positive thoughts.

My dad's health has been declining for a few years. I have been expecting this news for a while, but it still doesn't make it any easier.

I'm convinced that C:rolleyes: has a real problem in this regard, but they keep blaming the problems on the customer with the standard line of, "You need to swipe your passport at the ki:rolleyes:sk."
