Stretcher won't fit. They'd have to use "reeves" which is essentially a light-weight stretcher that they would manually carry the pax off in. As long as she was able to sit upright, they wouldn't use it however.

Regarding my seat mate yesterday, he was "jealous" of me being in the seat without a seat in front of it and he tried to make my life as miserable as possible. He was a self-important arse who, whilst doing his expense report, made sure everyone knew he had stayed at the 4 Seasons.

I brought lunch on-board because it was a non-meal flight and most of my connection was taken up with doing work and he said "are you kidding me" when I pulled out my baked potato loaded with brisket. He also was resistant to moving his arm to let me access my tray table.

He took it upon himself to use the space in front of my seat to put his legs (without asking) and had the gall to tell me I scuffed his shoe when I went to get my laptop out of my bag and accidentally brushed up against his foot (it didn't scuff his shoe).

He was on his BB the entire flight and when the FA asked him to put it away for landing he said okay and put it in his pocket. As soon as the FA walked past he busted it out again all the way through the descent.

I finally said something when the FA's did their last walk-through of the cabin and they asked him to put his seat forward. He did and, again, as soon as they walked away, he put it back. I finally spoke up and asked him if his minor improvement in comfort for 5 minutes was more important than the lives of the folks behind him - in case we had to evacuate the plane.

He put his seat up and didn't say anything.

After deplaning I was walking behind him as he was talking with his coworker, who had been sitting somewhere else on the plane, and overheard him mention "this jerk" that sat next to him. Apparently I was bothering him and was so rude by eating on the flight, and how he hates sitting next to people that don't travel a lot. (he wasn't elite on CO)

As much as I'd like to, I'm sorry, but I won't be able to make it.

Absolutely!

I've never had to complain while staying at a Hampton...I'm guessing it's something the desk agent will do for me? And since it's an award stay, would the refund be a redeposit of points?

Nope! :mad::confused::rolleyes:

I wonder if it was the software in the router that did it. could that really affect my computer? I'm so not technical that I can't understand how it could affect my laptop, but if everything worked fine until he installed the router and now my radio signal switches itself off, could that just be a coincidence?

Grrrrr!

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and just explain the problem and see how they try and remedy the situation before asking for something for free.

You probably know this from your hospitality experience, but generally if a guest starts off with demanding something for free, more often than not they never had any intention of paying to begin with. Make the associate your advocate and politely negotiate to a level you think is fair.

Had I been in your shoes after getting off of the plane, I might have said something. If he flies so much, he should have known that his seat (middle) sucks.

Belynch, it does indeed sound like you were at the eye of a douche storm...what kills me about stories like yours is that the self-important man-children like him are in positions to brag over hotel stays. Why does it seem like doing the right thing and being good to people end up being handicaps?

And it's even sadder that a grown (at least on the outside) man gets off on defying an FA like that. There's a guy that the UA forum should recruit.

I contemplated it from the second he put his stuff down in his seat and made a remark about how I managed to get in the seat that I was in (insinuating that he was more important than me and therefore should have been in that seat).

I'm very anti-confrontational (especially when having to occupy tight confines with someone for the next 3.5 hours) and just shrugged it off. Yes, he was intruding on my space and was inconveniencing me (he honestly gave me grief about accessing and then stowing my tray table) but I knew he was nothing more than a putz and at the end of the day when I get off that plane I'm still me and he's still a miserable putz.

Belynch - revel in the fact that you are (a) a CO-Plat and he isn't (!) and (b) you are obviously a far more decent human being than he EVER will be.

And, as my sweet, dear Mother always says "God doesn't pay his debts in money", meaning he'll get his come-uppance somewhere along the line!!!

I could care less what my "status" is compared to his. For all I know he could have been GS on UA. I never wave that flag (because airline status means nothing to me).

It's B that let's me sleep well at night.

Good point. And I guess you could say that I do know how to deal with it from work experience...but you were Hyatt, and they actually TAUGHT you that kind of thing, whereas I had to figure it out on my own.
