First rule of transiting IAH on CO — avoid most of the food in Terminal C and hike it to Terminal E.
Sorry I missed the crew yesterday evening. It was nice to get back to NY several hours earlier although I seem to have picked up a cold somewhere between the left and right coasts.:mad: I sat next to the biggest douche in the history of douches last night. |

There's a bus?
We were "rescued" from the Termalink by a guy that ran out of the maintenance shed between B and C. They kept it running and just used the "other" side. Was the train still stuck when you came through? I know I'm way behind on my Boxing, but just wanted to send my regards to sfogate and my wishes for a safe journey and I hope everything turns out okay. Yes, rolov, I procured Shipleys and even brought a half dozen back for the Canuck. Even got my 20% off. It was working fine when I was on it. It always is. |

I'm going to PM C:rolleyes:Insider to see if they can just give me my own Tug to transit terminals in IAH. As much as the TermaLink always seems to  on me, it's usually just stuck in the station and the next train pulls up on the other side and it's not a big deal. Even yesterday's kerfuffle only lasted for a few minutes. |

My thoughts are with you sfogate.
My wife and I must be the only people in CO's database where we're able to do OLCI for Intl flights and have it work. They'll probably fix it and it will  on us. |
Houston - we have a problem
Hello Box!
I have a problem of enormous magnitude and I'm wondering in anyone in the box is a "techie" and can help me!! I have a Dell Inspiron 640m laptop (about 3yrs old) that I use constantly. Everything was fine with it until yesterday! Now my wireless thingamabob is playing silly buggers. Now, I am not what you would called technically competent. I can sort of find my way around simple stuff, but as soon as you start introducing words like 802.11g WPA-2Personal and AES-CCMP then my eyes glaze over and in my mind I retreat to a desert island with sparkling blue waters, a cosmopolitan in hand and a cooling breeze wafting me as I swing in my hammock. Anyway, I digress. As I was saying, my wireless thingamabob is being somewhat obstreporous (sp?). I have discovered that I have a network adapter called an Interl Pro/Wireless 3945ABG. (That, in and of iteself is a monumental leap forward in my education, having discovered that by rooting around in places I shouldn't be allowed on this computer!). Everything was working fine until yesterday, when suddenly, my wireless radio whatever it is called switched itself off. It seems to happen only when it has been idle for about 5 minutes. When I try to switch it back on again, it just tells me it is already enabled and the only way I can get it to switch back on again is by rebooting my laptop. Now anyone who knows my laptop knows it takes about a decade to reboot, so naturally I'm not a happy bunny. I went out to the internet (snuck onto Mr. Brits "big" computer and did a google search for Pro/Wireless 3945ABG and found lots of stuff that, to be honest, is greek to me). Anyway, I did try to follow some of the advice I found. but, bugger me, if it still isn't doing it today. Anyone got any ideas? |
Most laptops have a physical switch somewhere on the sides or bottom that will turn your wireless adapter off or on. See if you can locate that switch and ensure that you did not turn it off by accident. Don't worry, this sort of thing happens all the time.
Barring that, were you operating on the laptop's battery or plugged into the AC adapter? Most laptops have some  power settings that may turn off the wireless adapter to save power while operating on battery power. Just another thing to check. :) |

Man, this is so annoying. the only thing that has changed is that Mr. Brit installed a new wireless router ( I think that's what it's called), so i checked out the internet and it said to install new drivers for my network adapter. I got Mr. Brit to do that last ngiht, and this morning when I opened up it said the drivers were not compatible with my wireless thing, so I had to "roll back" to the original driver.:mad::mad: |
Yeah, I hate the, "software" that comes with home routers these days. It manages to  everything pretty quickly. So the driver roll back solved the issue?

Morning Box. Wide awake waiting for the fiancee to stir...I guess my jetlagproofness is still in effect. It was good to finally put a face to the posts, ssullivan. Thanks again for stopping to say hi. All points taken re: IAH food. First time connecting thru there, lesson learned: book long layover and eat in E. Can one invoke the Hampton guarantee for a misbehaving toilet? Belynch, the case of  on the flight was an older woman that complained of lightheadedness...still apparently enough to keep is in our seats and have Seattle FD guys offload her first - wheelchair, not stretcher. As soon as the other half wakes up it's breakfast and Boeing. :D I'd never heard or read anything about how gorgeous the vistas are on the 5 Northbound. I think as we go back south into downtown this afternoon we will be pulling over and taking the cameras out like true tourists. |
