Fair point. I don't know enough on the topic to really intelligently debate it.

Upon further reflection, I prefer the 744 upper deck to the 346. Avoid the 343, though.

According to Wiki, VS's 343's are going buh-bye upon delivery of their 789's. So basically VS will stop flying 343's when belynch lands.

No front cabin unless you buy an F ticket, at least not as a CO elite. And what is this "fighting across town" that you speak of? Most of my work in DC is in the NW area, generally on the red line of the Metro so getting to Union Station is generally easier than DCA. Plus, I can arrive 15 minutes prior to the train departure and not at all risk missing the train.

sbm12 - I really enjoyed your blog and photos from Japan, especially the Tsujiki Fish Market. Nifty!:)

Wow...waiting for the 789s? That puts them in 2012-2013 time frame.

The 343 line in their Fleet graph still shows the 343's leaving service in 2011. That probably needs an update or three. But yeah, so says the page re: 789. That same paragraph says that VS would like to add YVR, SEA, BKK, and MEL as 789 routes, presumably all from LHR.

I am headed to Belfast on Sunday. The recent shooting has me concerned about an upsurge in violence. I don't know if I want to go, but it will be impossible to find a place in dublin with all the sillyness going on for St. Patrick's day.

Ordinarily, you make good points. But you're looking at it like a normal problem and not one that has something to do with gaming. The parking garage money is a slush fund for the powerful. The powerful don't like when the forecast calls for less slush.

I know what those garages cost to build and operate (cheap construction and next to ocean = a lot of $ for maintenance) and they may just be breaking even in the long term if even that.

The rail cars and locomotives cost $20 million. The operating cost is about $5 million/year. The track work in in Philadelphia to make it all possible was about $6 million (design and construction cost) That trains isn't a cheap thing and it was the Casinos that wanted it, not NJT. Granted that's chump change to the casinos when things were good.

I know the PA got upset at CO for pushing the Airtrain at EWR when it first opened for fear it would cut into the parking revenue as well as the car rental and taxi people screaming. That's why they have that stupid charge to get on and off at the train station.

I'm actually a little concerned about being in London this weekend with the rise of the "troubles" and London's St. Patrick's celebration on Sunday. The problems have been brewing for awhile. The shooting just brought it out into the open. Not much I can do about it so on I go.

You should be fine. Just don't dress up in a military uniform. The IRA rarely targets the civilian population, just the Brits.

It's a rouge group of people. They shot two pizza delivery guys too and made swiss cheese of their deliver car.
