It was called "Spanish Flu" and people from Spain don't seem too upset about that one, so why is "Mexican Flu" so wrong?

sdm1130 Apr 30, 2009 1:12 pm

Dear sdm1130,

We're upgrading our Diamond Club system, which will enable us to provide you with an improved level of customer service. There will also be some exciting new developments to the Diamond Club programme over the next few months and we'll update you with further details as soon as we can.

The system upgrade will take place between 6 - 12 May. During this time, access to your account will be restricted via our website and our service centre. Account information such as miles balance and flight activities* will be available, however, changes and updates to your account, including award flights will not be possible.

The good news is, you'll still be able to earn miles when booking flights with us, please quote your membership number at the time of booking.

Once the system upgrade is complete on 12 May, we'll be in touch over the following weeks to let you know the new benefits to your membership.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank you for your understanding.

Regards,
Diamond Club Manager
I have a feeling these "new benefits" are going to be .

I can't comment on the extra legroom but with the galley and lavs there, I'd stay away from 16.

I have sat in row 16 on the 764's many times, and while the galleys and lavs are not a problem, IMO, people over 6' tall might find legroom to be slightly restricted. At 5'5", it is great for me, though.

Yes. I moved to a "regular" coach seat after take-off, realizing there would be no way I could sit there for 8 hours.

(ETA: I'm 6'3")

Oh yes it does! Up until then she was freaking out. I got her to laugh and defused the situation. ANd then it went off the rails.

Hasn't it already been confirmed IN NYC? Who cares about 30 miles north unless you just invested a ton of coin in buying a new place up there?? ;)

Ouch. Good luck.

It isn't actually all that surprising.

Because no other countries have that sort of problem. At least in Israel the folks elected by those factions are actually practicing in the religions as opposed to the folks here who just like their money.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to call it by its 'strain' name: H1N1. Oh, right, it's not as media friendly.

So, wait, why can't we just call it H1N1?

I propose using H1N1 and pronouncing it in leetspeek Therefore it would be read like like hi-ni. So we call it the hiney flu. @:-)

One time, I was sitting in 16B on the way to FRA, when, after dinner, I noticed a strange, yet familiar smell. As I looked to my right, the couple in 16DEF were changing their child's diaper right there at their seats.

I would say that the height difference between you and Mackeman is significant based on the Box Brunch photo but you are standing one step lower than him. Ok, he still towers over everyone else in the box.
