I was riding in a car with another FT'er on Sunday and people were stopping in the roundabout (aka traffic circle) in STL. I asked why was this the case - her response was "there's only one in town and people just don't know what it is" ... |
Btw....it's March...2008 Platinums have officially become dirt. So, more upgrades for anyone? :D

Do you use repellant or anything like that when surfing in  infested waters? I prefer to keep out of water with toothy things, unless I've got them at the business end of a Penn International Big Game Reel.
it is  feast there near seal island but there are some spots where you are sort of safe. Australia has a nice population , but places like Byron Bay have the most great whites because it is so far east so that is out for me, I was surfing up at the gold coast in Coolangata last year and 2 guys were talking about "jimmy" ( Apparently the local shark had a name) The lifeguards were getting info from a helicopter and dropped chum in the water away from the people to feed "jimmy" |

I'm not sure if it would work against sharks, but otters seem to have no problems fighting off crocodiles.

I'm generally OK with that. Fortunately nearly all of the signs I've encountered while driving in California have both the route number, and the local name, on them.
That would be a far more confusing thing in a city like Houston, where a local might say "The Southwest Freeway" but the signs on that freeway only indicate US 59. And just to screw with the out-of-towners coming into dahntahn from the airport on the aformentioned non-indicated Parkway West, the same highway starts out as Route 60 South, morphs into 22-30 East, and then I-279 North. |

Indeed. Numbers by themselves are sufficient here, because we don't have time to say anything longer since we're busy sitting in traffic on those roads. It is tremendously helpful that our exits are numbered as well. We don't have to waste time with street names.
