I ordered some FT luggage tags and in my package they included two Avis coupons, complete with an FT AWD number. So far I haven't been able to make any use of it as the AWD and coupons don't seem to affect the price here in SAN, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

That's always a nice option as well. If your flight is looking full, you could pray to the op-up gods.

My chances for an upgrade on the IAH-EWR 777 are slim to none too, as it's pretty much full.

AZ and Air One got merged and an outside firm came in and bought 25%, along with the 25% that AF-KLM bought. AZ is going to suck for a long time still, but it's not dying.

This true, AZ has Been failing for the last 3 years at least. |

There's a big difference between a great candidate to fail and actually failing. I think AZ is firmly entrenched in the first category.
In a slightly related note, I keep a second folder in My FT of historically important threads or threads that contain what I use as reference material. Some of the contents of that folder, in the interest of disclosure, are some threads in which I feel I well and thoroughly defeated someone intellectually while managing to color within the lines. <pats self on back, hopes no one notices> In that folder is the old OMNI thread about the stripping flight attendant with the video of her in the cockpit. Wasn't she Air One? That might be a great way to drive revenue...stripper poles in C and F. |

As if it wasn't obvious, being repeatedly told that I work for CO made me blow my stack a little.
