Were you two traveling this weekend or is she able to take it easy for a few days?
She'll have a lot of time to rest which is definitely what she needs. |

I just read through that whole thread and found it to be rather .
I know I'm in the vast minority on this, but I think airline/hotel status is stupid. Yes, I very much appreciate -- and take full advantage of -- everything that's given to me because of it. But the way some people wear it like a badge of honor kills me. I suppose it's designed to feed egos, and make people feel better about their brand relationship, but it's not a license to be self-important or look down on anyone else. So what. I have a job that makes me travel frequently. That makes me no different than anyone else on that plane or in the hotel as far as I'm concerned. Yes, I find myself getting impatient when people don't know how the system works. But that's more of a cause of people not paying attention to their surroundings than anything else. My experiences in the non-travel world tell me that it has nothing to do with status. I'm a firm believer that airline status should be renamed:
ETA -- now give me my $#@&ing companion upgrades. I'M ENTITLED TO IT! I have said anytime that it came up in the natural flow of the discussion in several places on FT that there are a certain group of  who take their status way way way too seriously, and my underlying theory is that they take the wrong mental approach to it, and that these people fly and are on the road so much that the wallet candy goes from being an amenity to a very well-integrated part of who they are. It turns into something that is deep-seated and psychologically incorrect. I do not believe that to be true about anyone in The Box, hence why I hang out here. |

My friend is Mossimo Ferragamo's personal notary - and he often gives her free reign in one of the stores to pick out a pair of shoes. What she really want, though, is a handbag, but can't quite pluck up the courage to say so!!!Hartmann, glad to hear Jess is home and hope the tests come back OK. Give her lots of TLC.
+1 about Jess |

In order to get good at something you have to repeat it.
But when people have to fish through their bag for the BP at the ID check point. I mean, come on. You're just not paying attention. And, I'm sorry, but your guitar will not fit in the overhead bin on an ERJ. There are certain laws of physics that do apply here, and you're just going to have to accept that. It's the same thing with people that don't have their passports and cards filled out going through immigration. What did you think was going on at these little booths with immigration officers -- a bake sale? Gate lice amuse me. It's a plane. It's not just going to up and vanish. If you're at the gate and you have a ticket, you're getting on. Simmer down, pedro. |
